Installing Ant-ratchet drivers on 900

So the story is my track ratchets like crazy in deep snow, hill climbing or shootin across water, my track is pretty tight but not super tight that there's no slack. I've played around with tightening the track and such and it still dose it. So i've hoping that by putting the anti-ratchet drivers on there will help me out. So far last winter i took my track off and fully clipped it. So now im looking for idea's on which anti-ratchets to buy and such. Any input or tips on the installation is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Correct me if i am wrong..but dont have to run an anti-stab wheel kit if you run anti-rachets??

i will be doing these next year for sure..

yes it is a good idea to run anti stab kit because you have to shorten your rails to run the extroverts.

BIGGDAWG is right on with Avid being it for suppliers. You don't have to run the antistab with ours because the spacing (2.52) is so tight but it's a good idea. I tried cutting my rails back and grinding down the plastic caps cause I'm cheap...thought I had it licked until the front of the rear suspension compressed under deceleration and the track locked up:o Luckily it was low speed and no damage but it ruined a day of riding. I just gave up and bought the kit so there are no worries.

My 9 has never ratcheted...... Just sayin'. (always wanted to say that);)

In four years, my 9 has only ever ratcheted twice and all it took was a five minute adjustment on hill and all was well again. I've thought a few times about extros, but really don't think the mod is money well spent for me.

i put the avid anti ratches on my 900 3.0 pitch and a chalenger extreme 2.5 what i had to do is cut my rails all the way back so that i could bolt my rail tips up where the cross bar bolts in because if you don't go that far as i found out the rail tips will hit the drivers nock off the tip and then it gets real expensive i know from experience the wife was not happy about me buying 2 tracks in a week after i only put a mile on the first track.

So would i have to cut my rail tips on my stock suspension and stock track(159) or do i just need to install the anti-stab kit?

when you install anti ratchet drivers you have to cut the rails "and" install a anti stab kit. it is the safest most reliable way to go. you can try and get by with out the antistab if you want but you have to cut the rails so they don't hit the drivers.

I've had guys keep tighting their track to get away from racheting and it was because their bearing was out , seen em pull the drive shaft 2 inches into the tunnel, keep this in the back of your mind

Let me guess, you're both around 175 with gear right?:D

With the wet snow we have here in WA, and my close to 300 weight with gear (it's all in the backpack, I swear!:o)my track used to ratchet all the time no matter how tight I got it. The Avids are by far one of the best mods I've done. When it gets steep and you have to let off because the track is ratcheting, it can be a bad situation.

Cripes !! I wish I was that light, but thanks for the compliment. Actually, I'm around 230-235 geared up. My '01 800 RMK needed the extros, but so far, the 9 hasn't had that issue.

With the avids I had to cut the rails back a conciderable amount, the worked great but I noticed that I still had some kind of ratcheting or bumping happening when the skies were in the air. It turned out to be the track trying to stab. I installed antistabs and now smooth as silk
