Installed combo drivers, now I can't get the driveshaft in.

Well, we installed the Wahl bros combo drivers on the driveshaft following the instructions. The new drivers are further apart on the driveshaft (closer to ends of shaft) than the stock drivers, and now there isn't enough room to slide the shaft through the bulkhead on the left side and get the right side in the chaincase. I feel like a moron, there has to be a way to install this driveshaft. I apologize for my stupidity. Thanks.

You'll need to pull off the chain case, to get the wiggle room that you need. Once you have the drive shaft in, then put the chain case back. Be careful not to ding the seals behind the bearings when you ut the chain case back on. It isn't difficult. Good luck

It seems to me that they would have to be in the same exact position as the previous drivers...only difference is the anti-ratchet nubs that go into the track holes.

How can they be farther out and still line up where they're supposed to be....the teeth and nubs won't line up.

Also....a question: Do the Wahl's have to be pressed on or do they install with a set screw?
I'm looking at anti-ratchet drivers as well and was curious.

They use the track clip "windows" (centered) and nubs on each side...

I haven't seen a 900 drive shaft, but in my experiences they are pressed on.

I know the 700 and 900's are pressed on, but it sounded like he installed the Wahl's himself....was wondering if he had a press or if Wahl had a set screw method instead of pressed.

Sure, I understand... I can't speak for all Wahls, but the ones I have run were pressed on ala stock. They are excellent drivers, in my experience...

Thanks for the insight guys. Yes, I have a press and, yes they had to be pressed on. I was thinking the chaincase might need to come off. Thanks again. Back for round 2.

With the Avid drivers, I was able to put the shaft back in without loosening the chaincase.
