Has anyone installed floats on the dragons yet ? and do they install upsidedown and is this ok ?? Thanks

You want to run with the air valve at the bottom so the grey shock body has better protection. I was told typically the valve is put towards the inside because it is easier to get your pump on it there.

I'm running 60 PSI with a swaybar. 65-70 PSI if I have removed my swaybar

To fill or check float pressures, the shock needs to have no force against it- so lift it up or tip the sled on its side.

I run mine right side up..you have to grind about a 1/4 in. sliver off the edge of the shock mnt for it to clear the body but otherwise works fine...

I just did 2 sets right side up with no grinding on 09's.

After reading this I went to the Timbersled website to see how Allen did his. His are right side up as well and I think he knows as much about Float 2's as anyone. I'll be curious to follow this one. EW

I had to grind the mounts on my 08, my buddy had to grind on his 09. Polaris changed their mounts partway through MY 2009, some you have to grind, some you don't.

Eric the reason I install them body up is it means less unsprung weight ..the suspension works slightly better ...most wouldnt even notice...

I guess I am failing to see how installing them upside up or downside down will change the UNSPRUNG weight any.

The reason that most people install them upside down is so that the shock valves are a little more protected from nicks and scratches.

i would caution against grinding the mount. i did this and my mounts broke damaging the shock. mount them with the air chamber down that is how they were intended to be mounted.

the amount of material I removed wouldnt have affected the strength of the mnt...but this is the 3rd season on mine..real close to 3000 miles on it...and most shocks are built to have the main body mounted up...but it really doesnt matter..they are far superior shocks then the stock walkers and will improve the ride of your sled....
