Pulled mine apart this weekend, noticed the belt deflection bolt pushes on the washer which causes galling to the housing. This is off 11 Pro 800 with 1800 miles? Also found it has a black spring, according to charts I should be running black/purple for the higher altitude.

What do you think?

I have taken many Polaris secondary clutches apart. What you have pictured looks normal.... not an issue. Sometimes the spacer needs to be flattened out or replaced if it's too cupped.

Northstar in Preston, Id has a clutch kit with a flat bearing for the secondary to fit your problem. I have one.

VF... doesn't that go under the sencodary spring cup... not against the deflection bolt between the two halves??

I've used the flat roller thrust bearing before and had issues with it failing... now I only use delrin washers

Yep, you're right. I use the bearing and the washers.

Its a crappy design, they all look like that, atleast everyone that Ive pulled apart.

I agree...I recommend replacing them at 1,000 miles. Otherwise, the force from the adjustement stud pushing in on the washer, bends the washer causing it to be uneven, and then wears into the sliding sheeve.

2 deflcetion adjusters at a minimum would help.

As for the thrustbearing idea.....how do you lubricate it?

That is normal with only one deflection adjuster screw. The wear happens when the clutches are in low gear only. Once the clutches start to shift and the sheaves separate there is no contact. The Tied clutch from Team has two adjuster bolts (hmmm) and the wear is not that apparent, although there still is some after the miles start racking up.

This is a really common problem over 1500 miles on the TSS-04.

As stated the Tied has two adjusters and two removal holes. The dimpling in the steel washer caused by the belt tool and deflection adjuster exacerbates the problem. I reccomend replacing the washer more often but when it comes down to it, it's a metallurgy and pressure thing- steel washer sandwiched between two aluminum bells.

Ready for snow, thanks for comments, installed black/purple spring, delrin washer and SLP shim.
