If you had to decide between a lowboy 8.5x20 plus 4' V or a 7x22 plus 5' V which one would you choose and why? Thanks

If you have to tow 150 plus miles, I'd take the inline.
If you're close to the riding I'd take the wide one.

The 8.5 would be nice for hauling a car if need be but if only sleds then go with the inline.

Not having to remove 1 or 2 sleds to get the one you will be riding out is nice.
I've had a Triton low-boy since 2007, and love it.

Go 8.5, and get the full height ceiling so you can stand up comfortably.
If you do, you'll never go back.

Get the thicker alum sheeting in front, and add diamond-plate to the v-nose outside.

MD.

As long as your towing with a 3/4 ton diesel or bigger then I would say go wide, if you had to haul it with a gasser then I would say inline.

Depending on what else you want to do with it. With the inline you are sort of boxed into sleds/quads but no cars. I went from a deck over to a inline and definately won't go back to a deck over. The inline tows alot lighter and easier and seems very stable in cross winds. Very happy with the inline, but you don't see many of them in these parts. I have a 22' + 5' all aluminum MTI and can fit 4 mtn sleds in there without much trouble.

Wide for sure u can fit two sleds side x side we put 5 mnt sleds in a 28' and have had 6 before, it all depends tho about what everyone else mentioned

I ordered this Stealth trailer last year..8.5 26ft box w/5foot vnose..I can get 5 sleds + I have a kitchen sink and counter top in the front...I use it alot in the summer also.. Had an awning installed with a a/c unit..Great space inside...We use this thing year round....Wider is better....You will NEED a diesel..

MY opinion if you are hauling only an hour or two go wide. Wide is nicer to load dont have to unload the whole trailer to get one of the front ones out ect. BUT if you are like I and have to pull it 2000 miles for a trip to the mountains I would pay double for the inline! There is HUGE advantage in pulling an inline......better fuel mileage, pulls easier, doesnt get affected by the wind as much, easier to see around, the trip seems half as far pulling an inline and we pull them with diesels. Gasser = inline even more so.

I just went through the same question and ended up with an 8.5 wide. Since I can only afford to own 1 trailer I wanted to be able to haul a car or my bobcat if need be. I just got back from my first trip with my trailer and it pulled just fine. Mine is a 20' box with the 5' super v. I can get 4 long tracks in with plenty of room around everything so they don't touch each other. The main thing you need to ask yourself is what do you need or want to do with the trailer. I need to be able to haul more than just sleds or dirtbikes so the 8.5 was the right decision for me.

inline for me. pulls great, tracks close, just have to think to get alot of sleds in it. pull them in from the front to back. have had a 159, 153, 153 and 136 in my 20'+5' V. the 8.5's are better all around, like mentioned above, but for sleds and a long distance i like it.
aluma all alum, something like 2700 lbs empty.

wide

Buy what you want, but i always look at what I want plus what will sell the easiest if I want to get rid of it. For me that is a 8.5'. I have owned 2 one was shorter and the last longer. The longest was by far the easiest to re-sale.

Good luck with your choice. As usual make sure and choose a good trailer brand, as well as buy from a really good dealer. Even if you have to pay more it is worth it

Anybody ever have any problems with the inline and bottoming out or dragging the rear frequently? A little nervous about the clearance and some of these mountain parking lots.

Well I ended up picking up a Mirage full loaded 20' plus 4'V. Thanks for all the opinions guys. Cant wait for the next trip now!!! :face-icon-small-hap
