Inline enclosed trailer questions. Please comment.

I now have a 4 place enclosed and would like to downsize to a 7x21 inline enclosed trailer. Obviously it will still have the v-nose w a ramp but I'm told it would be a much easier trailer to tow. I don't need the space of the 4 place anymore.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of trailer?
Thank you.

I sold my 10' with a clamshell (pos setups) and bought an Aluma (22' inline,+ 5' V) all aluminum. 7' wide 6' tall. Much easier to tow is an understatement. Tows like it isnt there.
If you drive the sleds in from the front and leave the rear of the sled in the V.
You dont get as much sway from sidewinds. The downside is obvious, ease of towing/more mpg/less wear and tear on the truck. i dont think you would be dissappointed. I am very happy with it.
And from your other post, sleds "overlap" about 4' on length on a 7' wide. measure your sleds and do the math to see how many you can fit. Make sure you use the overall length of the trail since you can use the "V".

I'm going to build or rather have an inline built for me, it'll be a lowboy, maybe a hiboy setup, not a deck over, and will be 4.5'-5' wide, and about 18ft long with out the nose.. not sure if i'm going to do an enclosed or not... the trailer builder I talked to said i can do a single axle, but I think I'll do a tandem just for the sake of it and to reduce the trailer bounce.

As far as easier to tow.. even with a v nose a wider trailer still catches more wind or has to cut through more wind... I towed a 6ft wide V nose and a 5ft v nose.. same hieght, the 6ft was longer, but the 5ft had more wieght in it... and the 5ft was much easier to tow at highway speeds. even with only the 1ft different..

I have a Amerlite 7' wide 19' box and 4' V and it is by far the best towing trailer I used. Low to the ground, real size tires and you can see around it. There is a reason why inline trailers don't need an escort on the Mackinaw bridge, they just don't blow around like others. I have short track sleds and can fit 4 inside of it. Whatever you get plan on 6" taller and 2' longer then what you think you should get. Nice options are LED's, roadside front ramp, rear loading lights, vents and 16" OC framing. SS fasteners are a nice touch as no other steel pieces look good after a couple of years. Get two axles, 4 brakes and steel wheels.

what do you mean about the escort over the bridge.

Does anyone tow these much while driving in crosswinds? I've been thinking about an enclosed inline for years but we are usually bucking a 10-20 mph NW crosswind while driving west 500 miles to ride. I'm concerned about how they handle in the wind.

I also have an Ameralite inline trailer, 7X27' including the V. The trailer is great. After having a 2-plc cap and going to this trailer, the side by sides just aren't worth anything on a long distance trip. The inline tows awesome. And, yes, the inline won't be escorted across the Mackinaw on a strong cross wind.

Pictures of my Ameralite after I fully polished the aluminum and cleared it.
