i have a rear mount turbo running an rb3 im looking to do injectors which one work the best 15+ lbs

im looking for sug. from people who have bigger injectors and how there working and which ones

I think the Powderlites are 480 or 490cc. I really like the 750cc injectors. We have them in stock. Either way at 14lbs+ you gotta have em.

Racinstation so what is the stock injector cc and what advantage is the 750 over the 480. I am running 18lbs with the stock ones will I see more power with the bigger ones. I heard the bigger injectors can make it run to rich on bottom end that true?

ok what sled is this apex or nytro? If you are running 18 on nytro with stock injectors you are crazy.

So whats the advantage of using 750cc inj. over daves 430cc inj. with rb3 anybody using the 7500cc with an rb3?

Injectors

I have the green injectors on my nytro. The stockers were running at 100% duty cycle at 11psi boost. The greenies are in the low 50's at the same boost.

Dave at Hurricane Performance is using the 750cc ones with the RB3.

You guys know that there is a huge decrease in fuel just from going from 330cc stockers to daves 490cc. So I can imagine where your rb3 maping would be with the 750cc ones.

Is it worth changing the injectors if your sticking with the stage 2 powderlites turbo? Mine is at powderlites right now and if its worth it I will get them done.

Jehay this is a Nytro and why am I crazy? There is atleast 3 other setups just like mine that have been running 12lbs plus for 2 seasons now and one has been running 18 now for 2 seasons. Just dont see spending all that money if there is no improvement. Now dont get me wrong I am always looking for more HP so if someone can tell me that they will give me more HP then I would be sold.

Not sure what kit you have but the powder lites kit runs out of fuel over 10-11psi at low altitude. The fix was bigger injectors. I saw the fuel pressure regulator on the impulse kit and it has an adjustable gain up to 10:1. If you have a similar regulator you can likely run higher boost by adjusting your gain up. Our Powder Lites kits have a fixed regulator with a 2:1 gain so our only option is bigger injectors. I looked into a regulator like the impulse but it would have cost 2/3's what the injectors did, so I went with injectors.

I picked up 400rpm but going the the larger injectors. Same boost, same AFR. I had to add 2.5grams to my primary weights, get a softer primary spring, and turn out my shockwave.

x2 i am not saying that you are crazy running 18 psi i do the same. But with stock injectors i ran out of fuel at 12 psi after that it ran lean so the only way to fix it is bigger injectors. I just want you to be careful these engines are $$$$ as you know! But maybe you have a different fuel system on yours that meets your fuel needs. If you run the bigger fuel with bigger injectors and your old system did not keep up then there would be a big improvement.

stock injectors can run at 17 pounds at around 7000 ft . not really well but they will work .15 pounds is around the max for them to work properly .

I guess everyone should be more specific as to what compression ratio they have, 12 psi with no shim is close to what 15 psi with one. I ran out of fuel ( A/F's were to lean for my pocket book) on a apex with NO head shim at 10-11 lbs. SO to run the 14-15 lbs I want to run, it meant bigger injectors.

Bigger Injectors and Regulators

Tell me how much boost, ratio of regulator, CC of injectors and I can tell you how much HP you can really make. Boondocker Apex turbo can run up to 18 psi on stock injectors.
Powder lites Apex stage 1 starts to run out of fuel at 12 - 13 psi depending altitude.
When we map or tune a sled we soon find out who makes HP and who's pulling numbers out of thin air!
Bigger injectors that don't go passed 85% dutycyle will make way more power then injectors at 100%.
