injector resistance check (yellow specs) glued on connectors?

I recently bought a rebuilt 700CFI on a different forum. When I received it inspected it all was like stated but I noticed that the Injector connectors that plug directly on the injector, where they have the nice little metal clip for releasing them for some reason never seen this before the wire connections have been glued on as well? Its not dielectric grease or anything like that its like crazy glued on.(its dripped out around the connectors) So now if I ever needed to replace an injector I would have to replace the complete system and the harness gets spendy. So my question is what is the resistance measurement for the yellow polaris injectors its a 09 700cfi motor if it makes a difference. I want to make sure that there is not glue on the terminals by making sure this is in spec. Before I talk to the guy I bought the motor from.

Just a reminder that if the injectors anyone replaces are a different color than originals you will need to reflash the ECU to accept the new colors. Resistance 12ohm@68deg.F (20C) the color coding relates to the flow test done on them and how much flows during testing. 800cfi fuel injectors(all colors) are a high flow version of the 700/600cfi motors. All fuel injectors should be the same color.

What he said..

Which brings up another point...

Today's ethanol added gas and even gas last season that did not have etanol is not the best quality and does not store very well...So bad that fire depts are switching to fuels like VP's SEF 94 for stability reasons and ability to store well.

With our crappy gas these days... and VERY short storage life before deposits form... IMO...At the end of the season... add marine grade stabil to the gas in the last month of riding (you really never know when the last ride is for the year)...

Fog the motor after you know you've done your last ride.

Then, drain the tank completely... run the pump in prime mode with the return line disconnected and into a bottle to get the old fuel out of the lines... disconnect the line at the fuel filter and blow out the fuel with DRY compressed air, or preferably nitrogen at 45 psi.

Then, hook everything back up... install a new filter and you are ready for the next season.

Personally, I'm going to pony up for some SEF 94 for the end of next season (building this season with new motor and injectors etc).

If you have an EFi sled... IMO.. you should send in your injectors to get cleaned and checked for flow/symmetry each summer so that you KNOW, absolutely, that the injectors are not your weak link.

Running fuel system cleaners at the beginning of the season to try to deal with this can actually make your problems worse... they can loosen gums and varnish in the tank/plumbing and clog filters, pump rotors and injectors...plus they can soften some of the plastics used in the sleds fuel systems.

Not that cleaners don't have a purpose.. IMO... they are a good Maintenance "tool" that can be run through the season to keep things clean... but if your EFi system is dirty already...don't do it IMO.

I use Witch Hunter Performance in Wa. for my cleaning and flow testing of injectors.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for the help guys. For the fuel issues I use Starbrite STARTRON enzyme fuel treatment its actually a ethanol stabilizer so stabilizes the ethanol not just the gas. Been using it since it came out on marine applications as thats what I do by trade and never had a problem in the last 2 years and I use about 20 cases of this stuff a season. I highly recommend it.
