Injector Replacement Question

Last year I had some issues with the wire harness at the injector. On mag side, the wire lock/clip was half set, and the electrical contacts vibrated so much they wore out. Both the wire harness socket & the injector pins. So I need to replace an injector and wire harness.

Does the ECU need the new injector ID (flow data?) programmed in by a dealer? I ask bc I noticed tags on the injectors, much like my old etec, and that needed injector ID programmed.

You should be able to get a new injector connector for really cheap and just wire it in... Cut the old wires and either solder or heat shrink butt connector them back on. No need for a whole harness

Injector wise I'm unsure.

I wanted to add info. Last year when this started, I had code P3000, which doesn't match any known code. I had a hard time finding info about what that code was indicating. Another member here saw it once when his harness was coming apart, but it was accompanied by another code, for an injector.

Here's a comparison between my old injector harness and the new one.

The bad injector and harness connection pretty much fell apart once I removed the retainer clip (zero pin drag). Pto side I had to pull to unplug.
The injector pins were shot too. Old:

I didn't save the money, just dropped a fresh harness in vs connector replacement, but appreciate the tip. Where would you buy the connector, and what is the part number?

Damn them pins really did open up! I wonder if they somehow where a bad factory batch, the other day I was repinning a ecm connector due to spread terminals, went to drag test and found one I put in was already bent out and had no drag... Didn't think to inspect it since it was new.. But can happen that way too.

You can find them connectors all over, different styles and sizes but I believe these would be them. Pretty much any auto store should carry them or get them quickly. Amazon product ASIN B01LX7BVWY
