I was just looking to see if anybody and run the CPC torsional secondary kit on an M1000. What are your findings and what helix angle/spring combo did you find to work best? Any input would be appreciated.

I havent tried many combos but my sled is stock and installed their kit(red/white spring and straight 36 helix) and the sled is WAAAAY better. It accelerates alot harder and keeps the rpms great. I messed with the tension on spring and found 4th hole best for me. IMO it is a must add-on.

36 sounds to flat for the torsion. We are running 53 and 51s and they seem OK, but not spectacular....but willing to try it out.

Get out your shorts!

I'm running a cpc kit on my 900 bb and the 36* works really good. I started with a 44-40 and it would run like crazy down the road but in the tree's just wasn't shifting like I wanted!

there in the washing machine now...lol..are we talkinig the old style helixes/conversions here or are these kits somewhere in the middle..??

that explains it...so im going to only eat half the shorts...and before anyone else says it...yes that is still a large meal...

Yes, I should have been specific. The non-reverse angle helix like the King Cat used is the one I am looking at.

me as well..hey you guys at racinstation are smart cat guys...can you answer this for me..will the pipe from an o7/m1000 fit the 07/m8..???..does the 07/m1000 silencer exit out the shock tower the same as the 07/m8...the reason im wanting to know is that someone is selling twin pipes and silencer for an 07/m1000 at a very good price and my 07/800 is bored and ported to 900 and i know i can tune the twins in if they will fit...so any info will be greatly appreciated....thanks...ps...i will do minor cutting and fabrication if needed...they must be close...???

The kit that I have does use the old style helix that requires some machining. I just bought a couple of the cpc helix's, but if you all say that the 51 or 53 would work better maybe I should try that too.

i have a cpc con kit 07m1000 red white spring 44/38 helix it hunted for rpm talked to a few people they said try a snow pro green in the 5th hole or a straight 38 got a 38 on order have not got achance to try the sp green but the 44/38 pulled really hard but would not pick a rpm

I run the gen 2 torsional on my stock 08 m1000.
Cutler red/white spring, 38 helix.
Huge seat of the pants improvement over stock!
Pulls all the way up the hill instead of hitting a wall at 40-50mph with stock secondary.
Low rpm it upshifts much quicker and is much more fun to ride.
I have experimented with tension, and middle hole is the best all around, but I prefer 1 loose because of the low RPM upshift... It is definately a little more lazy 1 loose when cruising and then stab the throttle, but backshift on a long pull is not an issue.
All the way loose was too lazy and my gut feeling was that I was creating more belt heat.
Great mod! Spendy but worth it.
Makes me wonder if I could get away with a straight 40?
