Info on A-arm protectors

Just wondering if anyone uses the ski doo a-arm protectors. The claim its supposed to help with floatation in deep snow. Do they work? Are they worth the $60? Are there any drawbacks?

Thanks

you need to use strong wireloom clamps on the a arms, the stock flimsy ones will break, sometimes they build-up with snow and ice but all in all they have saved my a arms at least 3 times that I know of, so I give them a thumbs up.

I took mine off 'cause they would not stay on. Could not tell any difference in floatation. They also carried alot of snow. They also stiffen the A arms which I think is a bad thing since replacing A arms is a whole lot better than replacing a NUN.

same mine would never stay on either and never noticed them being on as far as flotation. $60 down the toilet if you ask me. Ill never buy another pair

In wet snow they don't work very well because they pack with snow and it turns to ice,the weight of the snow and ice and lack of flotation it causes is noticeable. In powder where you can encounter rocks and stumps I'd rather have them than not have them, but if you don't clean them they will still collect snow and eventually it will turn to ice.In powder they are easy to clean in wet snow they are'nt.Just my opinion.

Got mine as a freebee with sled.

No problems with them moving or falling off (maybe previous years this was a problem)

Haven't noticed any problems with snow building up on them

However they do help hold some snow\ice chunks in the belly pan. Inside face of protector acts as a bit of a dam sometimes and prevents snow chunks from sliding out of belly pan....sometimes.

There are pros and cons to everything, I like the fact that they skip over stumps, rockts, etc instead of snagging the A-arms.

Price may be a little steep but so's the damage that can happen if you hook something.

Just my 2 cents

I didnt have much luck with them either. One took a small hit from a limb and cracked. The other was breaking apart after 400 miles. I also think they hold more snow up in the a-arms that in some conditions tiurns to ice and interferes with my steering.
