Info needed on boost controller and gauge

I bought a 2011 Yamaha nytro with the MPI 180 kit from the local Yamaha dealer. It did not come with any gauges or boost control. I am looking for a boost gauge and a controller, wanted to know what my options are. Thought about prologger? Any thought or recommendations are welcome.

Ive never used a pro logger. They seem to have a lot of features, but I find digital readouts hard to read while riding. Auto Meter makes some good liquid filled boost gauges. If you are going to get a boost controller to adjust your boost make sure you get a A/F ratio gauge or you could have problems.

What is a safe zone to be in with A/F. Is it recommended to get an electronic boost controller or do it manually.

I ran a 180 kit with a controller on it too. Get a Manuel one. Get a wide band air fuel ratio gauge don't go leaner that 13:1 for a long period of time. 14:1 is ok if it's just quick for a second I ran 10lbs on my 180 kit. Worked great. Turned it up more but it leaned out a lot. So now I have the 270 kit. U wil want more. Happy boosting :)

What would be a good manual one to purchase do you have any pics or where can I find a manual controller, what do you recommend? Were you just running 91 pump gas when you were running 10lbs of boost? Thanks for the help I am new to this turbo boosting?

Hallman Prox manual boost controller. Easy install. About a hundred bucks. Ebay

Where is the best place to put the manual controller I would imagine it would have to be mounted in back somewhere.

Check out the thread on the KOSO gauge several of us are looking into as well.

Yea I looked at the Koso gauge looks good, I was thinking that or prologger. I was leaning towards prologger because of electronic boost controller but it's looking like a manual one is the way to go or that what everybody in the post is recommending.

Sorry for the late reply. Just go to you local automotive parts store and look up boost controllers. That's what I did. Use a place called lordco here in Canada. Mount it right beside the intake tube in the back. So u just plumb it into the waistgate hose. It should be right close to the intake tube. Just gotta reach behind u under the seat a bit to turn it up or down. I removed the Mcx auto boost altitude compensator tho. Dunno if your kit has it. If it does take it out while u run a manual controller. And for gas. Anything above 8 or 9 lbs start mixing race gas or av gas. I ran 50/50 mix at 10 to be safe. It was probably plenty enough but I'd rather be safe than sorry. PM me if u need more help. I keep forgetting to look at threads I post on. I could get photos on Saturday.

sorry it took so long. been busy. basically its just zap strapped to the air intake tube. the controller comes with a mount that i zapped strapped.

Have had better luck with the hallman pro with ceramic ball, google it more consistant and responds quicker.
