Indy throttle question

Hey guys, a friend of a mine asked me a question about a broken throttle on his 1985 Indy... wondering if anyone knows year range fitment for a replacement...from my experience i dont believe they have changed much over the years even up to like 1998 ish... pry biggest worry is bar diameter... but possibly other issues as well.... let me know what you know...

Are you talking the throttle block itself? I just sold a new block, polaris part # 5431592 on E-bay a few weeks back. According to the polaris online parts catalog, this subs up a couple times for the block on the mid-80's indy. The fitment list for the 5431592 alone was 7 pages long on the online catalog. I bought it for my '97 XLT but ended up not using it. The block itself from just about any Polaris will work. Looks loike there may be differences in the auxillary shutoff and throttle safety switches.

The block should be the same. The flippers are different depending on if you have 34 or 38 mm carbs.

Thanks guys got it figured out... much easier to find parts looking in a 10 model year spread rather than just one.
