I don't consider myself a racist but do admit to having a bad thought or making an inappropriate comment in the past, but, to put it in writing in a published book. You decide for yourself-kssnow987

Subject: In Obama's own words

This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama's books in his words:

From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: ; 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

This was taken out of context.
Here is the FULL quote:
"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

He is simply saying that he will not allow Muslims to be treated like the Japanese during WWII.

The Japs got what they deserved.

WOW.

Are you serious?

Locking up millions of Japanese American citizens simply because of the way they looked is "getting what they deserved"?

What about the Jews? Did they get what they deserved as well?

I hope you are proud of that comment, because I think I will put it in my sig, so everyone can see how you feel.

is this a serious remark?

So is discriminating against someone of middle eastern decent because of someting some one of the same decent did getting what they deserve?

How about a black person putting you in chains and beating you because of something another white man did?? sound fair?

:mad::mad:

wow this thread took a turn for the worse....nuts....come get some hot salty nuts

Milehigh. you are pathetic.. I dont mind the debate at all or opposing viewpoint but the comment in the sig?? Give me a break! Lame, look at me fest!!

Interesting that you find the quote in his sig a problem, but yet you don't seem to have a problem with the quote itself... or at least not as much.

The post wasn't meant to start world war III, god knows there are enough of those around. (wars and posts) I just thought it was interesting. I seriously doubt that my meaningless little post will change any minds, sway a vote or the attitude of many torwards Obama. I certainly don't agree with a few of the responses. Back to online poker, less volitile- kssnow987

No! I misread this one! I thought we were talking about the ones that we vaporized ! Sorry I have jap /ameicans in the fam.

Wow... this went way into left field........ I think they are both right.... It wasn't right what happened to the Japanese/Americans.... On the other hand, what happened in Hiroshima was right.....

Yeah! sorry! its been one of those days I am about ready to smack the wife. read and responded to quick on that one.

So the civilians that had nothing to do with the war, got what they deserved?

The japs in Japan! clear enough ? and before you ask war is war if our gov. continued to march our boys into certain death we would stop it . we had little alternative given the circumstances.

I'll fix my sig by the end of the night.

Either way, you say vaporize as if it was no big deal that we killed so many civilians.

And if you really want to know, there is a large argument out there that says the bombs that were dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima did not need to be dropped, the war was over. They were dropped as a display of U.S. Power, mostly towards the U.S.S.R, for this was the start of the Cold War.

Thank you ! I disagree with that argument the Janapese gov. was marching their people into certain death for a lost cause. the end of the war saved the lives of many more Americans. and in my opinion WWII was about the only war we should have ever been in. They started it! we finished it ! My wifes uncle is a japanese citizen and he agrees that the goverment was wrong not to surrender ealier.
