Wut do I do? Got the 174" under her ('05 900 RMK 166") with the 10's(& MMP 9" offset) and the b!tch won't stretch it tight enough! Do I do a rail set back and F up the geometry and the bottom out cushions, OR do I drill new holes in the tunnel and build a custom drop bracket on the rear? Either way I don't wanna do it because suspension geometry is so critical. My old sled was a '96 with a '99 suspension and that was a S.O.B. gettin' that suspension back under it. The 900 just "dropped" in and only took 20 minutes to bolt everything up. Please help a.s.a.p.! What's easier? Which way is a better bet to NOT F up the geometry?

_sorry to post everywhere but I wanna ride yesterday

Just set your skid back! It doesn't take much. You have the 9 inch wheels that eat up a little track. If you move it back 2 inches you should be good. You will have to build a bracket for the back. Doesn't have to be a drop bracket just a move back bracket. We set my buddies 159 back 1 inch to go to 162, worked great.

I don't want rail extensions if i can help it. If I do a setback i need to mesure front bolt hole (A) and rear bolt hole (B) while the snowmobile is sitting in its natural position with the rear suspension installed. Also I would need a rear bumper point measurement (C). Uninstall the suspension and lower (C) to the same height as before. Then on a level line I was thinking to move the rails back exactly 2-1/4". With height (C) in the same location as the natural position, I would need to Measure height the same as the original heigth of (A) and (B), but 2-1/4" straight back on a level plane. Correct? My dad says draw a line straight from (A) to (B) and move Position (A) and (B) back 2-1/4" on that line. Please tell me I'm the right one in this argument. Its been 3 hours with no work accomplished:eek:

Yeah move it straight back. You dont have to though, you can move the front up or down and move the back up or down. However it will change the way the rear suspension works.

Well it took til 3:30 this mornin' but I'm done. After coffee I'm hittin' the ditches.

Hey guys,
Not to be rude but why didn't you just buy rail ext. what is the reason not to. do you like to do things the hard way?

With the 3.00" pitch the rails would hit my extrovert drivers. It moves them out of harms way, even after I took 3/4" off the front, they still hit in the natural sitting position. Also when I brought the skid back, it improves the approach angle of the track. Also, I have a big trip planned on thurs. and I don't know if we could have gotten rail extensions by then and put on. This should work great.

Yes sir. We might race, might not, I kinda want to. Tyler and Josh will be with us. Ty's got an '06 166" and I'd like to see how it stands up:cool: I hear Josh's fresh 670 mobs pretty good, but its only a 141-4" How about you, will you be there too?
