In Grand Lake for a few days.

Thought we would say hi. Our group is staying up at Moose Lake Lodge area. Been about 6 yrs since I have been up here. Are there any certain areas to hit besides chicken and super chicken? Also, what is a good place to eat at in town? Hopefully we will see you on the trail. 3 or our sleds are marked with 4m decals. we decided to bring the wives this time and see how they do....wish us luck.

We will be arriving on Saturday, rented a house (log cabin). We have 8 sleds in our group - 7 of them are IQ RMK's. We would like to know the same thing - where to ride, places to eat, etc.

If you see us out there, stop by and say hi. This is our first time to Grand Lake.

I have never sledded there just ATVed but there are 2 places to eat. In Winter Park there is the best Italian resturant this side of the Mississippi called Hernandos, N side of town E side of 40 if you want to make the drive to WP i highy reccomend it. In GL there is a Mexican place E end of Grand AVE on the lake side of the street, sorry i can't remember the name of the mexican bar. I'm sure someone on here know's what i'm talking about. Ride safe

Too bad, I'll be riding Grand Lake the middle of February, I would have liked to meet up with some new guys. As far as food in GL goes, the "SageBrush" restaurant is the best place in town for the money. My family has eaten there many a time, and always go back. It's located right in the heart of GL on the main strip, you can't miss it. Plus, you get a bucket full of peanuts to eat while you wait, and throwing the shells on the floor is encouraged. My kids love it (so do I).

The Rapids is a nice place on the east side of the main strip, but it's more upscale and the food costs more. There are a good number of places to eat in GL, but from what I've experienced, the SageBrush is the best bang for the buck.

Edit: A friend of mine who lives in GL has his own little website at http://grandlakedad.com/. He's the president of the local snowmobile club. It has some information on there that you may find helpful. Also, looking at the forecast, it looks like after the 5th or so of February, they are expecting some more snow storms to pass through. So if you will be there after the 5th, you should get some nice new powder. Good luck.

well we just got back in from our ride. snow was great but the wind and snow made it somewhat difficult today, not bad at all though. Our wives did an excellent job today. Got mine to follow up a few hills in some powder. She loved it! Thanks for the info on the resturants, not sure if we are going into town to eat or not. the Sagebrush sounded good though. The one place we stopped the guy said there is a ride up to gould tomorrow and sat. He said they have lunch up there and fuel. guy said it was about 45 miles of groomed trail. By the way, any one know a specific area to see a moose? One of the gals really wants to see one.

There all over up there, i saw one at the end of ATV season this year and one in the middle of the season before. My wife's grandma has a cabin in WP and she see's them all the time but that's a ways away.

Well, we have already unburied 2 avy victims on Gravel this year. . . the snow and wind have been bad the last week. I would stay off!

We were aware of the avy earlier this year. I read one of you posts on it. We did go up there today, but as you said....Stay off!! The snow and winds have created huge cornices at the top. so hopefully others will take the advice also. We found plenty of other places to play that were safe. thanks again Mrs Snowrider for the advice ahead of time. It was a great day to be out though. We have one more day to ride so we may see some of you out there! cya.
