Impulse turbo oil return

There oil return is 3/8. I did have an issue with mine. But, this is on a RX1.
Yes I know Paul doesnt make RX1 kits. I brought a header for an apex, down pipe, turbo support bracket, oil drain. Then used a mcx intercooler & did the rest myself. When the engine was cold, it would smoke worse than a 2smoker. It was bad!, once the engine was warm, nothing. Being anal & a tech I couldnt live with it. Gather fittings from all over the place, went to 5/8 steel braid. I drain to the mag housing just like before, smoking is gone. So going from 3/8 to 5/8 cured my issue, again I say this isnt an Impulse kit. No fault of Impulse, Paul even suggested a bigger line to me. I havent heard of anybody haveing problem on nytro's. I have a restricted orfice in the supply line also.

I could see how cold oil draining through an unvented 3/8" line might be a little restrictive. Wonder why the Nytros don't have the smoky start problems......or do they? Not much room to route that drain line on the Nytro either.
 
Maybe the nytro engine has lower oil pressure? No idea, Paul told me that 4cylinders have over 80psi on a cold engine. He also suggested different oil. Nothing worked for me until 5/8 line, but thats my sled.

Hi Red! Long time no see. Did you try a 1/2" line?
 
Nope, I went straight to 5/8. Mostly cause have stainless steel braid line @ work. Same line that semi's use for air compressor discharge line. Also got fittings for line from work. Had to get fittings that go on turbo & mag housing from fast&furious type turbo shop.
 
If you search Impulse RX1 would find pics I have. Its the bright yellow hose, cant miss it. Or if you go to ty4stroke, I have alot more pics of the oil line routing. I went towards the tank, then looped it over near the fan/rad, behind the chaincase, then down to the mag housing. Remove the plastic plug, thats were it drains. I have seen pics of apex's were people have routed the oil line right over the header/heat shield.
 
My bad, after I posted it, thought he is asking for nytro. Sorry, hopefully somebody on here will post a pic. There seems to be alot of impulse nytros out there.
