Importing Snow Bike into Canada

Hey Guys

Thinking about buying a couple of used snow bikes in the states and bringing them back into Alberta.

Anybody have any tips on what to expect? I've read that closed course bikes are easiest because you don't have to deal with RIV. How does the border interpret a closed course bike with a track kit? I know each border guard has their own opinion and set of feelings on certain topics, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've imported a truck and have gone through the 72 hour wait for the american side, but never done a bike.

Thanks.

Shouldnt be any issues.. Pay the GST and go.. I brought over a new KTM last year showed customs officer the sticker on bike competition use only as he was trying to nail me with the RIV fee and got it waved.. Bill of sale/title should all you need.. The track kit should be considered as a option or bolt on part

Havent had many issues over the years bringing Rvs, jetskis and bikes.. I picked up an old Chevelle this summer in Idaho an US customs guy that deals with import paperwork was being a real pain with submitting paperwork/title and the 72 hour wait which is BS , when I crossed border going down I asked the US guy at my crossing about the 72 hour wait an he said nahhh call me and I'll let you know when paperwork is cleared.. 12 hours after i submitted paperwork it was all cleared good to go

it's pretty amazing the difference you can have between border guards. Some are the most hardass guys on the planet and some are actually helpful.

Has anybody had an issue with the competition only sticker not being in french?
