image digital manipulation

depends on the image....family pic? self pic? landscape? slow exposure? what kind of look are you going for?

Dude, the last thing you want to see is a picture of my mug here. Its a pretty big photo too. 3mb+/-

Why dont I email it to you. :)

Not sure there is. I'm not a graphics guy. Was wondering if the colors were balanced or maybe not bright enough, fuzzy, not sharp...all that stuff.

Some adjustments

I took a look at your photo, the first thing I would suggest is to crop out some of your background...the table with the cloth or plastic in the background adds a bit of distraction, and so does the fire extinguisher. I did a quick crop and removed the fire extinguisher ...see the attached.
Some suggestions I might add, if you are to retake the photo your lighting could be more balanced, you have a clear side lighting from the right, and if you will balance your lighting some it will cast less shadow on your faces. Less shadows would smooth out your facial features and give you a more flattering picture. Its very warm with the orange overtone (because of the wood) but if that is the effect you want, it looks good. Otherwise I might suggest using white balance to get more natural tones on the rest of the pic.

btw I had to resize this to get it to load on here...I don't have a photobucket account setup....
