you know i was really fed up, my sled needs a stator and i was just sick of it. but its been a few days and i just cant let it go. it has a special place in my heart, and im going to keep it. i found a 05 rmk 900 159`` about 8 hours south of me when ever the guy gets back to me im probly gonna drive down and pick it up for about 4400$ steel of a deal around here.

it has 946 miles on it, looks bran new. ill probly ride it the way it is and this summer swap out my mounts and a few other things from my engine.:face-icon-small-ton

LONG LIVE THE 900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you stayed. Even if you have to replace the whole electrical system, it's still cheeper than a new sled and nothing else has the torque of the 900.:face-icon-small-hap

ONLY the M-1000 has more torque as far as I am aware.

Yup, there's something about these sleds that sets them apart from the rest.... gotta love em:D

ya well im gonna sell some stuff of my fusion, but ill probly ride that rmk the way it is for this year. thats if i get it, hopefully the guy contacts me. 159 is kinda long for around here but it will be ok for this year, i wanna see how that 159x2.4 pulls lol

It's going to be a lot slower but you'll have a ton of spare parts including a motor.

ya i dont care though, my fusion does 110 mph and ive only gona that fast once. the rmk should do 80 mph right? thats all i need.

hopefully i can get it really wanna ride a 900!!!!!!!!

just remember that a 159 is not designed for high speed. it will start to blow apart.

Be sure not to run one of these long tracks over 70 MPH for more than about a mile at a time.... they are not designed to withstand sustained high speeds, they are designed to work in the deep snow. If you run them too fast for too long they can begin to delaminate due to too much heat build up. I have had my 166 up to 78 mph but only for a short time with no ill-effects.... the key word is short-bursts.

Other than that, she looks real clean, give'r hell:beer;:D

even goin across a feild in snow? i dont do much trail riding if any, so hopefully this guy contacs me soon. he didnt leave no phone number on the add so i hope its still for sale really need a sled.

Drive 6 hours west to the Sault and I'll sell you a 06 switchback 144"!

lol pm sent.

having some issues with autotrader.ca seem like real pricks i sent them a message to see if there is any other way i can contact the seller and they send me back a huge email with ways to catch fraud sellers/buyers.

i asked for the guys contact info because i want to go buy the sled, and they underlined a specific section basically calling me a fraud. so im not to happy with them.

If your in snow more than 6" deep you're not gonna even get it up to 70 mph. Basically the point I was trying to get at was just to make sure you don't just get out on hard-pack and pin it till you run out of fuel. You can for sure take it out and run it up to 90 mph if you like, but not for 5 minutes straight...

In a nut-shell, the flexing and bending of the track as it rolls around the wheels causes friction internally and creates heat. With enough heat from extended periods of extreme-high speed, the glue can melt and the track begins to fail from the inside-out (delaminating or throwing paddles). I wish I could remember the post I read about it, but it has been quite a while. The effect is the same as with a short-lug track, but is more significant with a tall lug track due to the increased mass and the track itself being higher above the snow (taller paddles on hardpack)

If you're in 6" or more of new or soft snow, your not gonna be going fast enough to hurt the track even at WOT.... you'll overheat the motor before the track fails assuming you don't hit anything:beer;
