I'm no meteorologist, but is this even possible?

It's probably possible, but it would be a record. Here are some records I found. Who knows how truthfull.

In 1 month (U.S.): 390" Tamarack, Calif. Jan. 1911
In 24 hours (N. America):76" Silver Lake, Colo. April 14–15, 1921
In one storm (N. America):189" Mt. Shasta Ski Bowl, Calif. Feb. 13–19, 1959
In one season (N. America): 1,140" Mount Baker, Wash. 1998–1999

Source: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Topographic Laboratories.

I know just a couple years ago Alyeska resort got over 130 inches in a little over 2 days. They had to close the whole mountain at one point

Yeah, I'm a meteorologist in my senior yr and yes with the conditions you are looking at there it is! If you have looked the maps you will see that the models are predicted that the VERY strong low pressure system is almost stalled out over the pacific coast. The low is pulling very moist air up and over the mountains causing lift, which means that any place that the moist air has to rise it is going to dump HUGE amounts of precip.

Now go bust up all that pow for me:D

Are you going to SD School of Mines?

Yep, it's on!!

Here at Baker most riding is between 3500' and 7500'. It's dumpin 2' plus a night at 5K. :D

Baker is awesome!

We rode Baker last Sat and they had 3'-4' down in the meadow @ 3000'. I watch that same NOAA report but I look at the 5300' range and they were predicting 10"-14" today & the same for tonight. I've never seen the 10070' report. I guess thats why Baker always gets the records.
