I'm no engineer, so how does this work?

Just got a new Pro RMK and noticed how the belt is only 1-2 inches away from the open foot well. How does that work on awesome snowy days like below? :rain::face-icon-small-con

Others have already mentioned putting some pet screen material in there to keep the powder out (not the greatest design there). Cheap and easy fix though!

That's un#$@ real , I can't believe what I'm seeing, theres got to be a reason, maybe it gives the aftermarket boys something to do ? That must be the asphalt set up ? Theres got to be a simple explanation. I still don't believe it. You get free racing stripes below the knee ? I do like the partial weld job drain hole. So much for submerging it, she'll stay down like a anchor. Maybe a Ski-Doo cover will fit? I would like to be a test driver for the proto types because I don't see how that even made it to production.

I only have two rides in on my Pro Ride. One was in 2 1/2 feet of fresh powder. I never had a problem with the belt slipping or any snow falling in that opening. I can certainly see it happening, but would people feel better if the belt was 4" further away? It would still be possible for snow to get in there.

I spent plenty of seat time on this and did not notice any clutching problems...

I did notice some ice/snow buildup in the area though.

I know it's for hot air releasing but you'd think they'd have a smaller mesh-like opening at least? Must not be an issue though or they would have caught it during the demos and protype testing.

I would say if you're that concerned with it that it would not be hard to integrate some sort of a mesh covering into the inside of the foot well to alleviate any problems that may occur...sounds like Rob with BetterBoards is working on something now that you could purchase to solve this issue. First ride on my Pro in decent snow I didn't have any problems though and haven't heard anything from the demos last year where it was an issue...
