Tearing the sled apart and checking every single wire over for piece of mind. (another victim of the VR)

Been checking wires for about two hours...

At this point, I remember I removed my clutch covers INCLUDING the ground wire:rant:

Obviously going to get good results with it unhooked :face-icon-small-dis

xc6rider,

Let us know what you find if anything? I know there are some wiring issues and possible additional grounds that may or may not be needed.

Sure will. Although, I'm pretty sure i'll find nothing.

I'll check everything with and without additional ground wires.

Just figured i'd check everything while I'm waiting for my VR to get here.

Anything specific anyone want checked?

I'll test both the VR's when I have them both here. Now, I've noticed that the Yel Vac wires on the bad VR almost seem shorted to the Orange Vdc wires. Not all of them mixed and matched do, but each pair of them (orange wire above it's closest's yellow wire) have very low resistance and have continuity. I'd think that would screw with the ECU, but I dont know how it's designed to work inside. I'm no electrical engineer.. Nothing is shorted to ground though.

Whatever it is, I think it is heat related, increasing resistance. Rather than something "frying." Otherwise, the item part would short out, and not operate at all. It seems most of us are experiencing a short period of normal operation after a cool down period, rather than a complete failure.

Any thought's?

Mine is only acting up in deep snow, like greater than 1.5ft. I havent the slightest idea why, maybe from snow getting in all the electrical connections up front, thats the only thing I can think of. any ideas?

Mine has ran perfectly (knocks on wood) but I just went through all of my connections tonight, added dielectric grease to all the connections.

I did that prior to even riding it. Gonna go a step farther and check all the pins in the connectors. Frustrating.
