If you shoot off a rifle shell NOT in a barrel..how much knock down power?

A really cool video showing how ammunition reacts to being fired unchambered. Heck it wouldnt even go through drywall at 7" or shotgun through cardboard. Starts at 3 min mark.

Some very cool firefighting video as well. Heck even though they prove live rounds can hit you from 20 feet and not penetrate your fire suit I doubt I would walk up to it like that.

Pretty impressive. Kind of reassures you how tough that stuff is. I've always been a little timid handling handfuls of shells. Cool to get a full perspective of all the ways they tried to destroy them.

Had all kinds of ammo go off near me in house fires. The worst part is scrubbing out the inside of your gear afterwards. :)

I can verify this.
When I was a kid we used to tape a marble to the bottom of a .22 mag centerfire and drop them onto the pavement from the roof of a 2 story building. The bullet itself usually only traveled about 8 feet before it fell back to the ground.

Shotgun shells full of confetti dropped with a "device" to strike the primer will blow 20 plus feet and make a great show inside your High School.

Or so I have been told.

I have a buddy who had a 22 lr fall into the cigarette lighter socket with the bullet facing down. When he was trying to fish it out it shorted out the socket and went off projecting the case into the frame of his glasses. There was enough force to shatter the lens of his glasses and bloody his forehead. He said it knocked his head back an rung his bell.
