Which used turbo would you buy, 1. 2009 m8 turbo with either a boondocker kit or a cutler kit, or 2. 2010-2011 m8 turbo with a boondocker kit or a cutler kit? Lots of nice used turbos out there right now just having a hard time deciding. I've heard that its about a 3 psi difference between the 2009 motor and the 2010-2011 HO motor can anybody confirm that?

Thanks Gongshow

Are you kidding.always goforward if you can.the handling on the 10. and 11 is much better. More power to start with.and you don't have to upgrade the seat.oh yea throttle body response too.

Can you tell me what makes a 2010 and 2011 handle better then the 2009 m-8s?

it won't handle any different, it got a little lighter everyyear but the different motor s the no brainer H.O. all the way

I was in same boat your in dude! I rhode a 1000 turbo last year but my dad bought a used 09 volk built m8 bd turbo that i rode a few times and I loved it so much I had to get one for this year I couldnt decide either though 09 or 10-11 the 09s were def a little cheaper on avg but I decided it didnt make sence to upgrade and not go to the H.O motor, not sure how big the overall gain will be but im sure it has to be alot stronger in the bottom with stock head and the ho motor had a bit of weight taken out of crank! I know they reguire a bit more octane then the 09 and prior 800s did but I think good octane is a must in all turbo sleds anyway! So I pulled trigger on a 2010 Le M8 with bd turbo for this year! So as soon as we get some sonw ill give a report on how they compare boost for boost! But I think you gotta go for as new as you can afford with the exception of the the pro-climbs!(Not a fan and Ive rhode them plenty as well)

I think your missing the point- what limits HP

whether its a 09 or 10-11 the motor is limited by the stock injectors to about 215 HP, if it's a RG turbo then about 240 HP on avgas at around 10 psi, or RG 260 HP at 12-14 psi. whether u start at the 140 hp 09 or the 163 hp 2010-11. most guys put the 09 head on their 2010-11 turbos anyway. a/c changed the valving in the rear skid. that is why the ride is different. also what turbo 2860, 2871, or 2876. a smaller turbo has to work harder to get larger psi, than a bigger turbo does.

Would u consider a Twisted Turbo?

there was a guy on here in Bozeman that had a 09 Twisted m8 for $7500. it was a great deal

Turbo

I'm located in British Columbia Canada so Bozeman Montana is a little far for me. Sounds like a good deal though.

Im not sure if they changed now but our dealer on his 2010 hcr ended up running 09 jugs and head with the turbo to run high boost. Something about hitting the knock sensor on the 10 set up. 09 and 10 sleds handle the same but for 2011 they went through a HUGE change in valving on the shocks not only in th skid but the fronts as well. I currently run a 09 m8 boondocker pump gas and all 2011 valved floats i bought on here from a stock limited edition sled and that setup works UNREAL!!!!!!
