Burglars broke in and stole two smaller safes from our dealership over the weekend. One safe had all the DOB and social# for all employees. Is there anything I can do to be proactive about stopping potential id theft or just wait it out?

Notify all employees of the risk
Notify all three credit bureaus and request fraud alert including the individual's phone number. Creditors are instructed to call that number and receive positive ID and confirmation before extending credit. That's what LifeLock does.
Better yet, just enroll all employees in LifeLock at company expense. Then you get their help fighting any fraud.

Before you use Lifelock i would call www.idwatchdog.com. I was the VP of Business Development for this company back when it got started. The product is solid and has REAL technology behind it to monitor and prevent ID Theft. I know I was part of the product creation. Years ago when Lifelock had a customer that became a victim of ID Theft they had the resolution done by IDWatchdog.
