does anybody have any ideas on how to get 220ish hp on a 07 800 rev even like changing motor, what motor to use without adding a turbo just motor pipes

sell it and get something different.. ;)..

Pm dwhalverson here on the forum.. he knows a few trick.. :D..

cat 900 with cpc 1150 top end but good luck with getting the pipes to fit, some body had on in the swapmeet last year.

My opinion, just turbo the thing. Believe it or not a turbo is the most reliable way to build 220 in a sled. If you are dead set against a turbo, you are pretty much stuck with sticking a big cat motor in it. You will need to find somebody that can make the pipes fit nicely so you dont lose much power. A 900 cat motor with a big topend (cutler, union bay, d&d 1010 would get close)

I would just go with a turbo. In fact, I am going too:eek:. I dislike nitrous because it makes clutching a small nightmare not to mention the tuning of the imo piss poor nitrous kits. Id go turbo, then big cat, then turned up skidoo 800 on a bottle.

If you like to ride nos is a waste of time, Turbo is your main option or a tripple wc motor.

How long do you want it to last? Any big bore twin kit (1000 cc plus) will be close to the 200 range, the more HP you want, the more $$ or time its going to cost you. After 200HP, you have to start pushing into the 250 range to notice much difference. The more HP you make, the larger the increments it takes to notice a change. Anything between 190 and 210 range you will be more than happy with.

Sled Head Racing 860 = ~ 180 H.P. RELIABLE

Add a 40-50 Shot of N20. Ask Big John about reliabliltiy.

That's what I did except I'm 20hp short since I have the 840 but with NOS you can keep up with most. Clutching for a 30-40 shot isn't bad either, I'll let ya know about a 50 shot after this season.:)

If a person wants 220hp I think your best bet is to sell your sled and find a M or D already turboed. You can get into a used one for a pretty good price.

I would say that an 809 tripple bored out to a 925 would be close. I have seen pictures of one that big john did on here before im pretty sure. A tripple would be pretty cool, but I bet it would come in at the same or more than a turbo and be much heavier.

I think I was pretty close with this one...

t-rx1 motor... then just add better gasand more boost till you bend the thing in half with to much power.

honestly, thats a tall order on an 07 motor, if its got a new 08 block in it then i say heck, throw a turbo kit from DW on there... seems like hes got a dang good idea of whats going on. by the time you fit a custom other motor in there, you will wish you had just bought another sled, not saying its impossible, lets just say it can get a bit frustrating.

what do you need exactly 220 for? why not 200 or 250. just a nice number you wanted?

Big bore kit with matching exhaust system, NOS with quick clickers and you're there. There's some tricks to clutching for sure but if you have someone set it up that knows what they're doing, your part is easy. You're going to be down on hp at elevation though, an 80 horse NOS kit might keep you close if you start in the middle and keep opening it up as you lose compression.

Power

If you were shooting for a healthy 200 instead of 220 it would give you a lot more options. Theres not that many NA motors that can make the big 220 number in a rev chassis because of the pipes you have to run on these to fit. If you want to make 220 i would turbo it and if you can settle for a good 200 there is quite a few engines you can bolt in.
