Idaho Out of State Permit Question

We are heading to Island Park in a couple of weeks. What is the process now for out of state tags? Can we buy them at a gas/grocery store still or do you have to go on-line? If so, how long does it take to get them?

Should have no problem finding them. Don't forget the Montana one also if you plan on riding the back side of Two Top.

The gas station out front of Island Park Village sells permits, run $25 bucks. We will be in IP March 10th.

Not sure of locations, but ID out of state tags are easy peasy. I think all you need is to show a driver's license. I have had places tell me to have out of state friends buy them for ME, you don't need to show vins or anything. (Long story, lol.)
All they care about is that you paid for the sticker.

Thanks for the info. I'd heard somewhere they had to be bought on line. That's one less thing to worry about. I didn't think a about Montana but I'll need that as well. We'll be there the 14-17. It should be great snow.

On your way through Island Park, pull in at one of the rental shops on the highway, they can sell you the needed sticker.

Out of state people pay the same as in state people, $32.50 each. Sticker expires 10/31.

You are not required to show your title, past registration for non-resident. Resident stickers = yes.

(I am currently a vendor for these stickers, so I'll share what I know about the coming changes)

This year things are changing. Idaho Parks and Rec is being absorbed by Idaho DOT. All resident sticker sales (snow, ATV, OHV, boat) will be done in-house at DMV, online or through mail. You will be able to buy your stickers online and ride with a print out of your receipt until you get the actual stickers in the mail. Some vendors have 2013 OHV stickers now. BUT they will be pulled by DMV on 7/1/13 from what I have been told. The sticker you may have bought for 2013 is still valid, its just that the local vendor will not be able to sell them past 7/1.

They "say" that local vendors will still be able to sell the non-resident snow stickers next winter, but haven't gotten final confirmation on that.

Idaho out of state stickers

I believe it still makes a difference of which county you check so that that county receives some registration revenue.....doesn't it??? If so be sure to check Fremont County!! We will be out there March 1!! :face-icon-small-win
