ice scratchers

In my quest to shave off a few pounds on my 08 154 xp i had thought about putting on ice scratchers. I was wondering how many idlers you could take out( if not all of them).I have already shaved off almost a pound by moving the wheels on the back axle to the inside of the rail (total cost $20.00 ) any suggestions please let me know.

Depends on how often you want to replace your hyfax? I have run only the rears--then replace hyfax every year. If I run the front 2 and the rears--I am good for 2 seasons.
But this being said---Ice scratchers are to cool the sled--Not replace the bogie wheels--it will help cool the hyfax, but not their primary purpose.

thanks h2oske that makes sense. one of the reasons i was thinking about it i saw the timber sled add in snowest and theres didnt have any idlers.

yep on h2oske If you want to road ride or need to to get to the riding area its a toss up. I don't ride unless theres snow but some do. Wheels are for them
