ice scratchers for 2015 Timbersled? ?

Anyone have any experience mounting a set of ice scratchers to the new rail design for 2015 kits. They still have the standard location for the main bolt but no longer have a spot to drill the hole for the 90degree bend on the spring end to slide into. Ideas? Solutions?

I believe the rail is the same as my 14 kit. Bolt up through hole and 90 goes on the top of the rail.

unfortunately they have changed the rail significantly for 2015. Many areas have been machined out now.

Looking at the 15's it has the same hole above the front track shock lower mounting bar. Same location as mine. I don't see why it wouldn't mount the same as the one pictured on my post.

Are you sure you even need them? I've always had them on my sleds but 2 seasons on the TS and I'm still on my original hyfax as they just don't seem to wear as much. It may be due to the fact that it is much easier to get into some fresh snow in the ditch or wherever than it is on a sled and the bike is so much lighter.

The Mtn. Horse Rails have never had a hole for the 90 degree bend of the scratcher in them. They are designed to sit on the top of the rail like the picture. The purpose of this is if you happen to slide backwards the ice scratcher has the opportunity to roll backwards and flip over in hopes off not bending. If it were in a small hole in the rail, this would not be possible.

I wrecked a hifax on a warm day once on my 2011 ST.

Same here... I burned through a set on my 2012 ST riding a few miles on icy hardpack where there wasn't enough fresh snow on the side of the trail. I installed scratchers for last season and haven't had any more trouble.

I might try a set of my new reversible ski mount scratchers on the rail of my 2015 kit. They are much shorter than my standards and rail mount reversible units and I think will work perfectly due to the narrow track width. I will post pics next week after the install.
