I know this is an old thread. But, I figured I would answer the question. I have a 174 kmod turn key skid with kmotion in my viper. There is a difference between it and a rigid skid. It makes the sled feel more nimble, and it reduces the effort required to initiate turns. In short, it helps make the sled feel lighter and technical riding feels more fluid. However, i prefer climbing and do very little tree riding. Under full load in a chute, i do not notice any adverse affects like t motion; it is solid. But, that may be due to the kmod skid. I would recommend giving kevin at kmod a call to see if you can retrofit a kmotion into your stock suspension. Budget permitting, buy a full skid. You will not regret it on yamaha. The stock skid is too weak.
