i would like to have both hand and foot brake

brakes? we don't need no stinken brakes!!!

both would be nice, i know i keep going for both even though i have nothing there, kind of a dirt bike habit to try and shut it down in a hurry.

Rekluse has a insert that is installed into the foot brake reservoir and the hand brake hose connects to the top of the insert. They don't have it for kawasaki foot brake reservoir but most others. I bought a used yz foot brake master cylinder for my kx and purchased the insert for 102 bucks from rekluse. Make sure they send you the o ring that seals it also. Also the threads for the banjo bolt that was in the insert is the same as the kawasaki banjo, at least a ktm insert I did for a friend was not the same thread pitch as the stock ktm. When bleeding the brakes using a big syringe full of brake fluid worked best by attaching it to the bleed bolt and forcing the fluid up into the brake reservoir. Just make sure you keep a eye on your res. level to keep from overfilling it. Rekluse has a video on this brake bleeding.

all you need is double banjo bolts on both sides and the hose that goes from the handle bar master cyl to the foot master cyl.
The KX has very little room on the rear brake cyl, where the hose goes in, so that might not work on that bike.

How does that work off road rider.????

When the hand and foot master cylinders are at rest they are open to the reservoir so when you apply either they will just vent to the opposites reservoir and not move the slave cylinder

If both reservoirs are full they will operate the brakes.

I installed a second caliper below the stock caliper and connected it to the front master cylinder of my 'Berg 570. It works like a charm and I have a completly redundant braking system. Please help me lobby bug Allan Mangum at Timber sled to make a standard mounting bracket for the second caliper and make the mounting bracket for 2 calipers standard on all new kits. It took me about 4 hours to measure and fabricate a bracket from 1/8" plate
Several of my riding buddies feel stronly about the need for hand and foot control of braking. It really helps sometimes to have a foot brake when riding agressively when your right hand is busy stearing and throttling. A hand brake is very usefull to hold the bike when starting on a down hill, loading or when your right foot is busy in a turn or balancing. A foot brake is a natural instinct for motorcycle riders. My kit and many others are now assembled with a foot brake only. It spoiled my day when I had to ride out of some very steep treed terrain without any brakes when the foot lever broke off.

The bracket could be made much smaller and neater if it was welded onto the existing bracket rather than bolted on.

Pretty sure the bladder in the other reservoir would just displace. I think a check valve system is needed, like the Rekluse insert.

I think your right.. there are a ton of quads etc that operate from either brake lever without the need for dual calipers or extravagant systems.
so a double banjo bolt on both ends and a one way check valve right before the rear caliper should do the trick.

Hand and Foot brake

I have come up with a valve that allows you to use your foot and hand brake, Tested it this weekend works flawlessly, will work on any bike that uses 10mm banjo fittings. Talking with some CNC people next week to get a production run cost for pricing.

Sweet!

Hand and foot brake

We are in production of a valve that allows you to use your hand brake or foot brake or both. Comes in a kit valve hoses banjo bolts clamps everything you need but brake fluid. Alot of people have said they wanted this. Works on any bike if you have 10mm banjo bolts. Allows you to use two master cylinders for one slave cylinder. I am interested to see how many peple would buy this ? it will sell for under $ 200.00 Please let me know if this is something you might be interested in I am running 100 to start
with.
