I Want to buy a turbo but I have a few Questions

I am looking into buying a twisted turbos pump gas extreme kit. Was told that you Have to rebuild the top end every year is this true? how many miles can u get out of a turboed motor. Any other suggestions would be great thanx

kind of a loaded question, it all depends on a few things. Lets just say that if you run good fuel, good oil, don't push boost past the octane limits of the fuel, and aren't putting on more than say 1500-2000 miles in that year, then no you dont have to do the top end yearly. but get one of those wrong, and ya you might be doing some work.

but I think it would be smart to do the top end at around the 1500-2000 mile mark.

if you get your air/fuel mixture correct AND use a good injection oil, you won't have to rebuild your top end at all. you want to avoid detonation(air+fuel mixture exploding before the piston reaches full stroke and spark plug igniting the mixture). the secret for a long pistons, ring, rod.bearing life is correct timming, good oil,and correct a/r ratio. So far, none of the piggyback fuel controller can adjust timming but this is about to change in a few months. for sure twisted turbo is a good choice, so is push turbo, so is cutler performance center(cpc).......base your decision on customer service and quality of ALL kit components( external wastegate, tial housing ect...).
