I think this travel agency is running a scam...

Each week a local travel agency has an ad in the paper with their "hot deals" of the week.

I've been wanting to go out east so I called the travel company because one of their deals was "Boston for $189 RT". Apparently all of the tickets for that price were sold out but I could buy other ones for $500!

So I told her that New York is also listed for $189 and that I'd be fine with going there. Nope. Sold out of those too.

Philadelphia? Nope.
Baltimore? Not a chance.
DC? (She actually laughed)

I literally asked her about every single east coast city listed and there wasn't ONE ticket available at one of the cheap prices and keep in mind the ad just came out in yesterday's paper

Do the low fares that companies advertise even exist or is that all just a marketing gimmick?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm--I wonder ? If Allegiant Air is in your area try them, a friend of mine flew one way non-stop for $99 from South Dakota to Phoenix on Allegiant Air and I know people who have flown from SD to Las Vegas for $99.

i got a call the other day about a miracle price for a miracle cruise it was like 200 bucks to go to alaska for a week so i asked if they had any deals on sleds while i would be up there and he said no so i asked about the Caribbeans and they said they had an even better deal on that for 150 i asked the date of this amazing deal and they said january15th 2010 so i asked him why do they try scamming people and he said " its not a scam sir we get price reductions from the companies and we like to pass them on.." i laughed and hung up

We flew to Vegas for $69 in August of 2005. I'm sure the price has went up since then but like you said you can fly cheap through Allegiant Air.

Camden, if there's no Allegiant in Minneapolis, maybe see what it costs to go from Minneapolis to Sioux Falls(or drive there) and then to your destination(if Allegiant Air goes there)?

cheap tickets.com is where I check most of the time first. I have used them about 10 times, with only 1 little prob, but it was kinda my fault. anyways.

MN - PA, pittsburgh is where you should fly into. check out the ap. mtns just south of pittsburgh in western MD. on your way to dc. stop by deep creek lake in McHenry MD.

$258+ $47 taxes & fees = $305 per person

Billings to Vegas and back are $69 each way thru December right now.

A week ago you could go to Vegas (from Billings) for $4 and return on Monday for $29. I seen that a day after I booked rooms on Priceline for Denver and bought 4 Rockies tix.

I picked up a ticked from Allegiant from Sioux Falls to Orlando for my gf to come down and visit for a few days and then drive back up to SD with me in August. $153 one way with taxes and no stopovers along the way. It's gotta cost em more in fuel to fly down here than that?
