I still can't believe that I passed the test...

At the beginning of this month I spent two weeks in Ohio sitting through a prep seminar for an inspection certification I've been wanting for a while.

This test has somewhere around a 75% fail rate.

Been figuring I bombed it since I finished (it was a six hour long test). The usual thoughts, "I used the wrong tools on the hands on portion." "Did I find the right sections in the code book to answer those questions?" etc.

Results were waiting in the mailbox here in Casper when I got back from Vegas.

Not only did I pass, I passed with freakin awesome scores!

So, I'm sure not many of you care, just felt like sharing. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

It makes me happy to look at the certificate sitting on the table waiting to be framed.

The line in the bar always used to be "Certified Box & Crack Checker" since we used to check the box end of drillpipe for cracks ;)

Just finished my American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector certification.

Was wondering if you were going to say AWS certification.

Writing to my CWB Lv2 shortly, lots of info to know.

Congrats, having taken test myself I know exactly what you refer to. You cram so much info in seminar and then test. Doubt always creeps in. Since you refer to drillpipe above, I'm assuming you tested to 1104?

Regardless, congrats.

Yep, 1104 was the ticket. The new test was quite a bit harder then any of the practice ones I looked at due to the new revision that they are using.

we all care, bro! I did the exact same thing earlier this month with Northwestern Energy.......I felt like I wasted their time and mine....I didnt pass with flying colors, but ranking 4 out of 20 isnt so bad........high fives:beer;:beer;:beer;

When I tested they had just switched the code portion to 60 questions from 45 previously. I think those numbers are correct. Anyway, the extra 15 came from Appendix we hadn't even discussed in seminar.

Was test on 21st Edition?

Anyway Congrats.

Now to find one of them High paying Inspection jobs .......

Better yet, find 2, I'm looking to get to other side of WY soon .......lol.

Good job! :beer;

Good Job !
Took a lot of years here to achieve red level status with Honda. My silver and red level plaques give more feeling of accomplishment than any of my racing trophies can ever begin to.
I have shared how you feel and it is all good.

Congrats!!! Now go get a job, Obama's going to need your help to support the useless :)
Thanks for the congrats, didn't get the cert to get a job. got the cert to advance more in the company ;)

I think those numbers are correct.
Yep, those numbers are right.

20th edition with 2007 errata. 21st edition should be coming out in the next year or so IIRC.

Already have the job, but its up on the Slope. If you are looking to move over here to the east side of the State, Nate would be the guy to talk to about oilfield jobs. He's a sparky (electrician for the rest of you) in the gas fields around Gillette.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats :beer;:beer;:beer;
