I said I would decide after the VPs were announced.

All along I was pulling for Huckabee.
When he pulled out, I was hopeful he would be the VP pick.

Obama makes sense on alot of things, but also contradicts my thoughts on many issues.
McCain really wasn't the direction I was hoping things would go.

Biden brought me no closer to pulling for Obama.

Palin is the difference maker, as far as I am concerned.
She & her husband seem like the kind of people you'd invite over for dinner.
Regular folk, with common sense beliefs and actions.
You have to believe that snowmobiling will be better off with her in office also.
With McCain being 72 she should be seasoned & ready for the '12 campaign.

Palin....Change you can believe in!

i'm with ya mafesto. thats just what we need, a friggen REAL person in the white house.:beer;

I would have to vote for McCain by default but living in NM my vote is rendered useless by the electoral college and the demographics of my fellow citizens .Other than locally Obama will win the state by a landslide.

I think I am going to write in: "all parties unacceptable, try again". :)

That Is why I say "McCain by default" in the early part of the race it was "anyone but Hillary " now its "Please not Obama "

Then again, with this foolish electoral vote, its not like I have much say in the matter. :/

It appears to be a smart move by McCain and may get him in. In reality, she was chosen to pull in a demographic McCain couldn't and when they get in the WH, she goes back in the box. It's great she's a sledder and all woohoo, but what power does the VP really have? I wouldn't go dropping my membership to BRC, SAWS and others just yet. An over-simplification, but my general take.

Ever since Gore, VP's have been playing a greater role. She doesn't seem like the type to be pushed around too much. Maybe the first 6 months, but something critical will come up, and her suggestion might help us.

No, she seems to be a strong woman for sure. I can see it now McCain: "all you do is nag nag nag. Fine! we'll amend the Wilderness Act if that will shut you up!" lol I think sledding will enjoy some good press for sure. I more meant that legislatively she wouldn't have a vote. It's not a nice thing to say, but if McCain suddenly takes ill....now we're talking a re-write of the wilderness act to allow motorized use above the ground! ha haa.

Agree. Can you imagine the thermonuclear uproar that would be caused if she wanted to change the wilderness rules. Fist fights on the house floor, I"m telling you. I'll be happy if she can just slow wilderness down, or push through some common sense backcountry recreation designation. We don't need anymore stinking wilderness (aka. useless land)!
