I just happened to be in Gerat Falls today and caught a little of the Smokin' Grass Drags, an 08 XP vs. an 09 Assault, both looked and sounded stock, ( I think they were in the same class anyway). I was at the finish line and the start looked pretty even ( hard to tell fore sure ) the XP won with a three sled-length lead.

Was this a short track XP or a Summit?

It was a Summit, they looked to have similar length tracks. I wish I could have stayed for the whole day to see how it all panned out.

not baggin on the xp..... am picking mine up on saturday, but........ wth does this have to do with mountain riding? with snow?

I can honestly say, I have never lined up sleds and had a drag race..... Maybe thats just me, but I don't think it proves much....

Plain & simple. It's about competition. When the snows not present, & your into sleds, grass drags is a great release. Don't knock it ti'll you've tried it, and even then don't knock it. It's not for everyone, thank God.

I guess it means that on hero snow, with the same dudes riding the same sleds, the same guy will probably win, at least thats where my money would go. If I would have seen them racing at the smokin' five feet of fluffy feathers drags, we might know how they do in the powder, maybe next year!

yeah grass drags are really fun, but its such a bad indicator of how they will do on snow, but fun none the less.

track style is the biggest thing, mavericks on grass are sad!!, mine just spins, maybe a studded 162 or something.

i raced in the grass drags too and i have to say tracks had to do with quit a bit of it (not just for the xp & dragon). im running a stock track on my REV and i was spinning 3/4 of the way down the track then i would hook up and start reelin them in. if i had 50feet more i woulda done alot better. track type had alot to do with it...along with HP lol. never the less...it was fun!
