I need to know? TAPEX or TNYTRO?

Question for the guy's that have owned both. I know a lot of you have started out having a TAPEX then moved on to a TNYTRO.

What are your opinions on both? I would like to purchase one or the other and don't have the funds ( to bad) to get one of each to find out which one I like best.

How are they different in reliabilty?
How different is the handling?

Also which kit is the most pump gas friendly? I don't mind running up to 40% race gas. I live in B.C. and wee can get 94 octane pump gas.

I like to boondock, ride tree areas and climb hills.... so really a bit of everything.
Thanks for you input

apex

I have owned both. I would prefer the Apex hands down, way more stable and more user friendly. IMO Also the MCX 290 pump gas kit works great in the trees

Probably depends what your last sled was. Personally I prefer the nytro over the apex because it was more like my Rev.

Most reports indicate both are reliable but still have their quirks and take a decent pile of $$ to make them manageable.

Later

PS I have spent a lot of seat time on both.......so that is what I would suggest in order to find what feels comfortable.

I prefered the Apex. But agree it depends on what you are used to. If you like the Rev's, you will like the Nytro.

I ride 900 poo and haven't ridden a rev much, So I would probably be more comfortable on the TAPEX.
Will these sleds get 6000 plus miles running 18 lbs of boost?

Have any of you guy's gone back to a lighter two stroke? and why?

I haven't spent much time on a rev so i can't compare. My sled history

02 Mountain Max
06 Vector Mtn
06 Apex MCX
08 Nytro MCX

As soon as i got used to the nytro (1/2 day) I was hooked.

I went back to a Dragon from my Apex. The reason was where I live we don't have that many big hills and the Dragon is a whole lot easier and more fun to boondock in the tight trees. I really don't miss the Apex at all, except for being able to pull wheelies anytime you wanted. My .02

I love my apex, I have riden a few nytros but prefer the apex ride. As it has already been said they are different styles you really should try them or at least try a rev to see if you like the rider forward. as far as how long they last, cut the maintenace duration in half use good oil and keep it clean and I would expect at least that many miles. I know of a few sleds(apexs and rx1s) that are over 10,000 miles with boost and still going. I would expect the same from the nytro.
I dont ever see me going back to a 2 stroke, the lack off problems since going 4 makes me a convert for ever. Even if I give up boost I will stick with the tanks. julio

I much prefer the Apex to the Nytro. Better feel, sound, look, comfort, and fit and finish.
Although my SC Apex won't pull like the Nytro I would never trade back.

Is there a noticeable power difference between the TApex and the Tnytro when running the same grade of fuel? I'd expect the TApex to make more power but I'd like to hear from some of you who've got real world experience.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Nope. They will run side by side if they have the same boost. All things being equal....

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I prefer the nytro but that's what i'm used to now. I said i'd never own a 4 stroke but i'd never go back now

I much prefer my buddies boosted Nytro for boondocking.
In wide open spaces though I prefer my Apex, but that probably has more to do with seat time on my Apex.

As others have said you really can't go wrong with either. The Apex can wear on a guy if he's under 200lbs IMO.
