Two ways you could change pistons 1st pull the motor out and change or leave the motor in and change..I do it both..No special tools needed just a 10mm,13mm,14mm,screw driver, allen wrench, nosepiller, mallet. i think.. take pipe off, then manifold,drain antifreeze,airbox, bolts on top head, nuts for the cylinder,and just the two top injectors, pull the cylinder jugs off.
Might want to put a rag over the crank so dirt or things wont drop inside the crank housing.. take off circlip on piston and the wrist pin and piston should be off..remember the piston ring thingy is on the intake and arrow on exhaust..
from there reassembly..btw that was with the motor mounts still on.

It is not necessary to remove the manifold before pulling the cylinder, Just leave it on.

It is a real pain to remove the manifold when the engine still is in the chassi, so might save you some time
