There are some pretty cheap carry over 4 wheelers in my area, and i have been wanting to get one for a while now. There are 3 within $500 and i have no clue which one to get. They are 2008 650 H1, 2007 700 EFI, 2007 650 H1. Are there any differences between 07-08, and are there any major problems with any of these motors or models. We currently have an 06 500 Manual which is still the new chassis and love the ride and handling. Is there much of a power difference between the 650 and 700?

have the 07 650 h1 and so far its been good. does 65mph on a gravel road and its pretty stable. i would rather have a manual but the auto works good for now. diff lock is nice too.

Dude,

If it's a cat stay as far away from it as possible!!! Polaris builds the best quads out there!

we have run the piss out of our 500 out at our pasture, and around the farm working it a lot harder than anyone ever would on the trails. Its got over 3500 miles on it, and we've never had it overheat. "Polaris is the best quad" hahahahahhaha there have been 3 people that brought them to help chase cattle at our pasture. 1. Battery cable broke for no apparent reason and took an hour to figure out why it wouldnt start. 2. Broken axle 3. Didnt start worth a chit, and it had to be towed back to the road 3 miles away! that was fun. I never did find out what was wrong with that one. We also have like a 96 454 Bearcat that literally has had the pizz run out of it. The odometer quit around 1999 im guessing and it still says 4001 miles. It is easily over 10000 with the motor running just as strong as it did new. ( This is what i have been told, I was only 3 years old in 1996 haha) Cat has been great to me and thats what im going to stick with. Plus the ride quality and the price i can buy one at is second to none.

Sounds like your mind is made up. I have rode the 700 efi nice ride but I thought it was a little short on power but none the less still a pretty good machine. I have a Suzuki which I believe that cat uses their motors and I have 5100 miles on mine and runs like a top.

Have had my 07 700 efi for almost a yr now and the ONLY issue so far is the digital fuel guage always flashes empty even when I know it's full:confused::confused:. Steering requires more effort than my old Yammi Kodiak, other than that I love the machine.

does the 700 efi seem like it is starved for fuel when going down a road at full throttle? I rode a honda efi and thats what it felt like to me, so i didnt know if it was a honda problem or an efi problem on 4 wheelers.

the 650's make good power, the 07's had a habit of breakin the frame under the engine at a butt weld, most were repalced under warranty, have no one around here runnin a 700 efi

Im not worried too much about this one gettin beat to chit or breakin the frame. it is mostly gonna be used for hunting, and a little muddin down dirt roads, and maybe a trip or two to the black hills to trail ride and climb a little. it wont be a farm atv so it will last a long time and shouldnt have to much abuse issued to it. I just want to make sure it will have good power and be reliable because the mud is stick and bottomless if you get stuck in my main hunting spot, and if i would get stuck it would be there until the ground froze haha, that would not be good.

Dealer in Mankato has '09 Kawasaki Brute Force 750, EFI, V-Twin, Diff Lock, F. & R. Racks, Shaft Drive, Enclosed Brakes, and these thing are rockets, out the door for $6295. I liked the first one so much I just bought a second. It has been a great ride so far. Not sure how much a comparable Cat is, how do these compare to the Cats?

Have had 2 Cat ATV's. First one was a 650H1. This was a great atv. Not a speed demon but that single cylinder 650 motor had lots of torque. Only complaint I had was the front end was sprung a little on the soft side. Set the adjusters to the stiffest setting and it helped alot but it still could have been a bit stiffer.

I liked the 650H1 so well I now have a new efi 700H1. I thought my 650 had good power but the new 700H1 is better with even more low end torque and better top end. The suspension on this one is balanced really well. The ride is great but it doesn't nose over when you let off the throttle like my 650H1.

If top end speed is at the top of your list of must haves get a 2 cylinder atv. If grunt power is what you're looking for get a H1 version Cat atv. If you want both and can afford it get a Thundercat atv from Cat. That thing has and unbelievable amount of power. I have never ridden anything like it.

haha thundercat is my second dream atv after the mudpro, but its a little out of my price range. I can get a 650 or 700 for right around 5 grand. About the Brute Force, its a little farther than i want to drive and a little more money than i want to spend, and i have ridden a few kawasaki atvs that friends own and dont really like them.

I guess ididnt see that you were from SD the first time I read this. Your right, the Cat is the logical choice for you! Since you dont have any mountains per say to ride in.. Enjoy the kitty kids...
