I need boot info and input please!

I need a new pair of boots. My feet are always cold and when they get wet I get really gripie. So I am needing input on Klim's or HMK's, currently wearing sorels and they are pretty good but still get wet inside from time to time. Please give me some info. Deffently need something WARM. thanks

I have a pair of the HMK boots that I bought last year. I don't remeber what model I got but they were on sale for 150 bucks. I replaced a pair of choko boots I have been wearing for years and have never gotten cold in. The HMKs are lighter and a ton warmer that than my old chokos. I was very surprised with the warmth. The HMKs were very stiff when I first got them but after riding in them they softened up or I got use to them. They do run small though. I had to send my first pair back and get a bigger size. I will get another pair of HMK when mine where out.

My feet were always getting cold until I started wearing a pair of moisture wicking socks. I wear a pair of Burton snowboard boots and my feet never get cold. I think either a pair of Klims or HMKs would be great boots.

i got the new extreme ac boots, always like the full rubber bottoms, keep my feet dry:) love the billet eyelets for the laces. was going to get a set of the klims, but my buddies all have ripped the rubber off of the toes...

Boots

I currently ride in HMK boots. They arent too bad of a boot. Sleds are hard on boots, so they dont look pretty anymore. I like the HMK boots but they have a few issues that drive me nuts. The inner boot is made out of neoprene or something so if your feet sweat, you feet will be in moisture all day. I like a boot with an absorbant liner to help pull moisture off my feet. Second the sole has started to seperate from the boot. The sole is laminated to the bottom of the boot. Also the lace eyelets arent very good so mine have started to come out. A few things that i hate. I have been trying to find another boot but am having a hard time aswell. I bought a pair of boarding boots but they have a cheap lacing system that broke. So im pretty curious myself to see what people say on here too. Good Luck...

2 years ago we had 3 of us in our party all using HMK highmark boots... Like stated before they are warm, Too warm... the liner doesn't breathe well and traps in all the moisture which keeps your feet warm but sweating all day long. You can ring the sweat out your socks at the end of the day. I believe HMK does make a boot thats different now more compairable to Klims adrenaline.

2 out of 3 of us went with Klim Adrenaline boots last year and loved them... Feet stayed warm and dry. They breathe enough to prevent sweating but if its 40-50 degrees out and your really working hard I'm not sure theres any boot that won't make you sweat.

last year snowest or someone did a test on boots and the KLIM adrenalin kicked butt---the only way you got wet was to go over the top in water--they were the ONLY boot that stayed dry when submerged in water !!!!!!

That's the boots I wear.
Get a pair of the Klim socks to go with em.
Never had cold or wet feet again, and the good part, I can actually move around in em. I can't stand those super stiff boarding style boots.

i bought the hmk against my better judgement. haven't used them yet. i love the boas. they sqeek real bad do they come out of that?

I dont recall my buddies squeaking so they must come outof that. They have though had horrible luck with the cable. They have duck tape in there bag so when they break they can tape them on. Im not too firmilar with them but they say you have to keep them adjusted. Not too sure what they mean by that. Maybe carry an extra set of cables. Later..

I have the Klim Adrenilines, so far so good, the only time my feet got wet was when water came in over the top. After 600 miles on my sled with Snow Eliminators the sole is starting to show some wear, but not to bad. I wear socks with merino wool in them $12 for a three pack at Costco, no cold feet yet!!

i would not suggest the hmk's for the same reasons mentioned above. The liners DO NOT BREATHE! If you ride aggressive you will have wet feet at the end of the day. I went to the Klim's and absolutely love them. I bought them two seasons ago, and had a couple eyelets that "popped" out. Called klim and got a RO # and sent them back. two weeks later i had a brand new set at my door. Not to bad considering i had over 3000 miles on em. No problems with the new pair yet and i have another full season on riding on them.

i never hear anyone on here talk about these but i have a pair of trukke boots and they are great, never had cold or wet feet and the liner has never given me sweaty feet either. just my .02

I have Burton snowboard boots and love them. The soles are very good for the running boards, and they have removable liners so they dry out much quicker. By dry out, I mean the sweat from my feet. The liners wick moisture from your feet and you can take the boots off for lunch and put them back on and you don't get that soggy boot syndrome. I've got 4 years on these now, maybe a couple more and I'll replace them. If you're feet sweat a lot you are better off looking for boots that were designed for an active sport such as snowboarding or hiking.

I have used Altimate "winter boot " since feb. 2003. My feet have always been dry and comfortable. The soles are a little chewed up but still O.K. The down side is I think they weigh 5 lb. a piece. At the end of last season (5 yrs. old) they got a tear in the side of one boot. For this year I tried on the Klim adrenaline(in the store), to me the were uncomfortable and a pain in the arse to tighten the lace, I dont want to spend 10 minutes tying my boots. I bought a pair of Altimate Black hawk 08. Much lighter than the winter boot similar to klim adrenaline, but it felt more comfortable to me and tying the boot is much easier. I hope I have the same good luck with these new Altimates.
