I need ammo.

Anyone know where they have ammo in stock? Mainly 9mm but if they have other's i would order them to... .357,.38,.380, 30-30... I waited to long i think..

You could try Sportsmans Warehouse.

Sioux Falls
(605) 978 - 9800

St Cloud
(320) 656 - 0500

Coon Rapids
(763) 560 - 2000

Woodbury
(651) 731-4400

Go to J&G Sales online and call them. The stuff on their website isn't accurate, they have stuff coming and going so fast they can't keep their website updated. They pick up the phone directly. They could stay in business with all the money I give them!

...and yes you have waited WAY too long!

I can get 500 Rounds for 200 bucks for .223. Is that a good buy or should i shop around more?

I just spent 270 for 1000 at the place I listed above....however at this point in the game 200 bucks for 500 might be all right. It also depends on what kind of ammo you are talking about? Is it the Russian Wolf or Brown Bear? If it is that is definitely too much.

I buy 55gr Ultramax FMJs for about that for a case of 1000rds. However, I can only buy 1 case per 6 months and unfortunatly I cannot get any for anyone else or would be instantly cut off if It became known that I was not using all ammo aquired for my own use. However I will say that .223 ammo has been extremely hard to get the last couple of years. I haven't shopped the last 6 months but most places at the time had it for $475-600 for a case of 1000 and they were backordered like crazy. Wolf ammo (which I will never run through my AR-15) got expensive too which normally went about $150 a case 9years ago is nearly tripple in price today. So I would say if you found a source outside of military or law enforcement for $200 for 500rds AND they have them in stock AND it is not WOLF ammo. I'd say that is about as good as you'll find. (if it's Black Hills ammo better get it before it's all gone)

I bought a new DPMS AR-15 and they don't want you to use some of that foreign ammo because of the coating on the cases. If you heat the gun up firing fast the laquer melts off and causes the chamber to get tight....You can read about it at thier website. If you want a ton of good info join AR-15 .com The amount of info there will get you the answer to most anything!
I sometimes get lost for hours on there......just like this place! LOL :D

chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a DPMS and lots of Wolf ammo! well I will have to clean it a lot more than I do....thanks

What is the best price for .40 S&W? I need to start shooting more. Maybe if I order up 500-1000 rounds it will motivate me to get out, and I will actually find time.

Doesn't need to be fancy. I have never had a jamming issue and I don't mind cleaning my gun.

Bad experience through a friend that used wolf in his Olympic AR-15. The coating they used on the wolf ammo was the problem. melted when hot and had to chisle it out. Hardened in the chaimber like plastic. Scratched the inside with the tools getting it out. would have been easier to just buy a new upper. He sold it after that and bought a new one and we never use Wold since. I bought my heavy barrel AR for about $1300 and it will never see ammo like that. I'm even hesitant to use Ultramax because I've heard of guys getting a hot round every now and then. Black Hills makes the most reliable ammo in the AR world and best consistancy for performance.

I just got back from Scheels and they had 250rd Boxes of .223 Ultramax 55g FMJ for $99 a box. Also Had a bunch of boxes of 9mm on hand.

I think they were either 12.99 or 15.99 a box of 50. I gotta go back tomorrow. Another place to check is Walmart. They always used to have 9mm winchester ammo cheap.

Here you go, try these guys out. They're out of Stevensville, MT, so I figured I'd try more "local" company, the reloaded 180 grn FMJ .40 S&W comes out to be about the same price as the bulk Remington stuff, but seems to be a LOT more consistant! Good pressure readings on the primers too meaning they are pushing them a little hotter than the Rem. The only disadvantage is you don't get all the same brass, but so what? I'm only about 50 rnds through it, but I really like it, and they started carrying it at Sportsmans Warehouse.

After reading this thread I went to Walmart today to get some ammo and found the shelves empty! No 40, 357, 38, 30-06, or even bulk 22! Guess I will be calling some of the places mentioned above. The Glock model 22 is new to me, I have been told it isn't picky but is there any ammo you guys would stay away from? I would guess some of these stores are clearing the shelves of everything.
