Mine has been acting up for awhile and I'm sick of it. Just going to replace. I want a good reliable one around 3k lbs. Any ideas?

Any of the trailer supply places should stock them and be able to set you up. The last time I replaced mine it was about $150, if I remember right.

Ya mine lasted about 10 years so I can't complain too much. I was going to buy off amazon since I can get a better deal. Any brands you would say stay away from or recommend?

I replaced with the same brand but the higher rating (original was 2500 and replaced with the HD 3500) the original one was fine until I tried to block the back and jack the whole trailer up to rotate the tires. Here's your sign! Only did that once. : )

What ended up happening?

My United came with a Atwood brand jack they are pretty big name in the RV world. Its been a great jack only problem I've had was with the switch that makes it go up or down burning out twice so now I have it running through a ATV contactor for a winch and a simple 3 position switch from NAPA with no problems.
