I need a coolant hose shaper??

Okay... so what I need is some way to get my coolant hose to hold a 90° bend and not kink. This is for a VanAmburg Boondocker install on an Edge chassis with the front cooler delete. Anyone have suggestions/part numbers of what kind of hose to use for this situation? I would say I'm in need of it ASAP, but its not like I've ridden this thing at all this season anyway.

Take some welding rod or coat hanger and bend it up the way you need it and go to your local auto parts store and see if you can go through there hose in back. Sometimes you just have to cut and splice hoses together to get it perfect.

That is what I have done... NAPA is great about letting you look through everything... From my experience, it is very unlikely you will find exactly what you need, but a combination will get you where you need to be...

Yeah, problem is my sled is in CO in the shop being worked on and I was asked to find the hose. Thanks for the tip though :o

Okay, so what I'm looking for was featured on one of the PowerblockTV shows. It was a coiled spring or something like that that you slip over the coolant hose and it holds its shape no matter how you bend it eithout kinking the hose.

Now, the problem is that I can't find the "Featured Products" section of the PowerblockTV shows and I don't know if it was Horsepower, Musclecar, Trucks, or one of the others.

Any of you know what I'm talking about now?

It is a GoodYear product. The stainless steel coil does work in some applications like they say but hose wall thickness will determine your success. Also the inside pressure needs to be sufficent to keep the hose round when it gets hot. I used one on my m1000/cr tunnel swap and it appears to be alright. In Canada they are available at Auto Value. Good Luck

GoodYear part # is GY34UBP for 3/4 O.D. hose. It's ofical name is E-Z Coil Moulded Hose Solution.

on my vanamburg, i used my old hose and cut the sections i wanted like 90's and 45's and used a copper tube joiner for like $2 at lowes, clamped both sides and it actually looks really good and i had minimal cuts, like 4 total. i will be posting pics of my sled in a couple days......

How much pressure does a sled cooling system normally build up?

Not sure about your sled 'I assume all are different. If you are unsure use a hardline 9tee. We use black elbows that are for the chemical industry and have no problems. They freeflow much better than ordinary water line rigids. Never had one crack or crap out from the antifreeze. They actually have a silicone type O ring rather than plastic barbs-that are on water fittings. The plastic barbs actualy cut into the hose from the clamp pressure over time.

ive done that, take the piece so you get the right size and go to Napa or carquest, always found the pieces ive needed doing that

You can also get a stainless spring that just fits inside the hose, cut the spring so there is enough room for the fittings. The spring prevents the hose from collapsing. This is the way it was done in the "old days".

I had a similar issue when going to a U-cooler on my Tcat. What I found was helpful is go look at the on-line parts diagrams for similar sleds, what I found was that another sled had a hose shaped just the way I needed it, in my case it was an 03 1M Arctic cat. Had the 90 on the hose.

Just another way to try. I was amazed at how well it fit just cust to length.
