I have FINALLY narrowed down my problem....

2010 Nytro cutting/bogging around 7000-7300 rpms.....??? Sometimes it will clear up and run to 8k rpms on a climb.

At full throttle when it is bogging, it will occasionally show the oil symbol (but goes away almost immediately) or the code 81 (they only work occasionally).

I did have a lithium ion lightweight battery but removed it while troubleshooting because this problem was SOOO bad with it. Now with the stock battery, it is limited to 7000-7300 rpm range.

I do have HIDs (but tried disconnecting them, no diff) and a Yamaha roll-over with tether, and exhaust.

Any ideas?

I could not imagine that the Lithium ion battery has anything to do with it with so many people out there, myself included, running them now. Do the leads leading from the battery and connectors at the end of the cable look good and feel secure maybe one of the lead connecters is coming loose. By swapping out the battery maybe the wires are better aligned and have a better connection.

Stupid question but have you tried emptying out your tank and putting fresh gas in. You might have gotten some bad gas or water in there. check fuel tank vent lines to make sure they are not kinked.

Code 81. Isnt that the hand warmers? Have you tried disconnecting them? Maybe you have one that is shorting out and then drawing too many amps and causing your problem.

Do you have access to another voltage regulator? I had one go out and it only gave me fits at a certain rpm range.

thanks guys..... I agree that it is an electrical issue. I have ran almost every inch of wiring on this thing though. I will keep looking.....

I do not have access to a voltage regulator, but I will ask around.

Any ideas why this problem would get "BETTER" without the lithium ion battery???

Not unless you got a bad battery to begin with and the battery is somehow shorting out or loosing power internally which may cause issues but I am not sure it would cause the issues you are having. It is easy enough to check. Just hook it up to a friends sled or motorcycle and see if there is an issue.
I can’t come up with a reason why it would be worse with it. You said it was fully charged and the connectors were tight on the battery earlier. Have you checked both ends of the negative lead on the battery. Maybe you don’t have a good enough ground or the vibration at a certain RPM is causing the ground lead to loose contact slightly. Are you running anything directly off the battery besides the main battery leads that might cause a problem with a good ground? That is why I suggested looking into the leads themselves to see if there is a problem with them internally or if the wire connectors themselves are secure on the end of each wire.
I am just throwing this one out there for someone to comment on. Could kill switch on the handle bars be bad or shorting our intermittently and causing the motor to cut out?<O:p</O:p
