It was supposed to be our La Nina :face-icon-small-sad. We were sitting at 106% on Jan 1st now we lost 1/2 the snow pack and some thing named "Mother Nature's Furnace" aimed right at us, WTF!!!
I'm thinking about a trip President Day weekend to some snow, looking at the Northwest River Forecast - Snow website http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/snow/snow.cgi it looks like the only area with predominantly over 100% of average is West Yellowstone area. Haven't been since 16 so it will be new terrain and great snow compared to here. Maybe if I go the 50 year storm will hit to spite me?

Hey guys,
Ya, I am extremely frustrated with WA weather, Maybe you should hit Island Park it's right there by Yellowstone been there once great place to ride, even though my sled seized up 4 hours after I got there. wish I could head over there also.

I thought they changed the rules for Yellowstone. Only 4 strokes allowed and 100 sleds per day GUIDED TRIPS ONLY!! May be wrong but thought that's what I heard last year or the year prior. Please fill me in.

"West" Yellowstone. Two tops, Lions head, Black canyon, and the South Plateau probably a lot more. The park is good for the family but kind of cost prohibitive for a weekend budget snow fix! Heard rumors of a lot of animals outside the park this year due to the deep snow!!!

Let me double check with the boss and I'm in!

The rules are for inside the park only. All of the real riding is outside the park and there is a lot. West Yellowstone is a great little town with loads of nice people to tell you where to ride etc. Plus a short drive away is Island Park. My wife and I trailered there a few years ago we had great riding, rode all over the place and went ahead and took a 1 day guided tour in the park on rental sleds.
