I finally have heat in this trails west trailer! And it is amazing

I'm planning on camping out on rabbit ears this weekend and thankfully I got my trailer back tonight from trails west. They fixed my furnace and made everything right. I'm feeling happy I bought the trailer for the first time since buying it nov 11. It's cranking and ill be enjoying it this winter spring.

As frustrating as it has been I give props to Shane and the trails west team. They came and picked up my trailer, fixed the issues, upgraded the furnace and sent it back at no charge. It is a 2014 but still makes you feel good when the manufacturer makes things right.

Trails west 2 thumbs up??

Are they still saying not to run the furnace while driving? Are you getting more heat now, is it actually blowing from the floor ducts and helmet cabinet?

If there's a big improvement in your heat output I'm going to pull mine to Preston and have them fix it too.

huge improvement

I ran it for 1 hour however the thermostat never got above 55. I think the thermostat is bad. It was warm enough inside but the cabin had a good amount of smoke inside - this is probably the furnace oils burning off. I'm not sure but it was smokey inside enough to where I have a headache right now and feel woozy.

The ducting heats up for sure. The helmet cabinet is luke warm. The pants ducting gets hot as hell, same with the gloves and the vent by the bench. The floors are warm but not blowing warm.

I didn't discuss driving with the furnace on. I'm afraid because of all the issues I've seen and heard.

I need to figure out this more and this thermostat

The first time I ran mine it got smoky and stinky also. Within about thirty minutes I shut it off and aired it out. After 3-4 uses it was fine. You'll probably get a feel for how big of an improvement they've made after you use it a few times. I'll be really interested in your opinion after you camp in it.

I don't think I'd be too concerned about doing that. I'd want to make sure I had a good working carbon monoxide detector.

yup i sleep in mine keep your roof vents open a bit & i installed 2 co detectors, they have never gone off yet even with the vent closed though.

How is 55° and smokey amazing? How cold was it outside?

Except for elevations above 5000 ft. I think, wall mount, vent free blue flame heaters are suppose to be a good source for heat. All you need is two small fresh air sources. These are recommended for Rvs as a replacement for the crappy propane forced air furnace...
