I am going to file an insurance claim

wrinkled the tunnel and the sled is need of a new one

this is way over my head as far as being able to do it myself

local dealer say a fabcraft tunnel installed will run almost $3600

What should i expect as far as, the rates, premiums, the run around??

FYI the policy is through state farm 500 deductible

I filed my one and only claim ever on a sled with State Farm a few years ago and it was way too easy. Had to get a estimate from the dealer, then got a check in less than a week. It didd not affect my premimums at all. I am sure if you were to make a habit of turning in claims on a regular basis it would be a different story.Mine was about a $4000 oops.

I had 2 claims with State Farm this season didn't have any problems they were very fast. They also let me do the work myself. I don't know about using aftermarket parts as i used oem. Also they never increased my premiums but I have been with them for over 20 years with only one claim prior to these.

The best deal is if it's totaled. Then you can buy it back before salvage gets a hold of it. The biggest plus is the title remains clean for resale (if it's fixable). So read between the lines. TOTALED???????

You might need to go ride it just one more time and watch out for trees next to the road by your trailer.:eek:

Insurance fraud is how many billions per year? wow. And we wonder why insurance is so expensive.

I wrecked my Tapex this year to the tune of $10,000.00! :eek: Got it rebuilt on insurance. Co-operators(Canada). Got a CR Racing tunnel(with polished braces and polished extrusions and annodizing and polished rack) for the same money as a stock tunnel. :cool: The mechanic said the install was easier also. You might want to look around a little more!:D:beer;

I totalled one out this year....and got a nice check a couple of weeks later, it was a few hours of talking on the phone but not to bad.....

They don't title sleds in Colorado I don't have to worry about a salvaged title

it's fixable just a wrinkle in the tunnel right were all the other yammi's I have seen wrinkled

I would make the claim and get it fixed. I guess my main point is if it's really close to a total your better to find a way to put it over the top. I know someone right now with a new XP (bent frame and tunnel). $6500 in damages. Guess what he's fixing it and selling it. Doesn't want to ride a sled he paid 11k for that has been fixed that extensively. He was about $500 away from a total. Bummer:cool:
