Hyperfax?

Hyperfax; impregnated hyfax; or just the least expensive regular hyfax??

Anybody have any real data on how they each function for longevity?

2006 Apex Turbo is my first experience with Yamaha and the hyfax wear out so much faster than anything I have ever experienced in the past.

We are faithful to use our ice scratchers any time it is even questionable.

Chuck, my stock hyfaxes lasted only 500 miles or so. My Hyperfaxes lasted 2400 miles, and are in need of replacing. On my Apex of course.

If you do the math, it's not that great. But take into account the time to change them out, and it is well worth it.

I have used my ice scratchers religiously to the point that I had to thread some couplers to the end so they would still work. I think with better drivers, you could run the track looser and get some more miles from your Hyfaxes. But I am cheap and the stock drivers still work, so the track stays banjo tight, and I wear out Hyperfaxes......it's a never ending cycle!

I never did ask, but after a year of riding the Apex, what did you think?

Hyperfaxs rock!

I've use hyperfax's on three sleds and they last forever and increased track speed (its true) I think little better mileage
Climbing the hills it helps too
:D

I really like my T- Apex.

It has the 9:1 pistons and the big 2871 Garrett turbo so it is slow on the very bottom end of things.

Right now Boondockers is installing a 50 hp shot of nitrious on the bottom end. It will be controlled by throttle position, rpm, or a button, I will be able to choose for each day and application.

The 2871 can run efficiently at higher boost so I am excited to see how it all works out this winter.

Really cannot hardly wait.

Boost AND Nitrous?!?! Isn't that a little overkill? :D

The Combination of 9:1 pistons, the big 2871 (slower spooling turbo), and 110 race fuel make this sled pretty slow off the line, of course it runs like crazy once the boost is built.

The nitrous will only be applied on the bottom end while the boost is building, should be a great set up for my situation.

Pastor, I've rode the very set up your getting done. Piston ratio, 2871, 110 octanne, nitro shot. You should be excited. I'd love to get a picture of your face inside your helmet on your first pull this fall. You might want to practice smiling a lot for the next month or two. If you don't your going to come home with some sore jaw musles.
