What is hwy 20 snow condition for riding from the west side? Has anyone ridin there yet?

Fill me in?

We went up a week and a half ago and it was raining all the way to the top...needs more snow.

The Cascade Powder Cats start their operation next week, so access past the gate at Martin Creek will be closed. They have a private lease, so please respect their property.

Who are the powder cats ?What kind of lease do they have? I thought anyone could ride or what ever past the gate, cause the road is still in the national rec. area right?

Wes, make sure to check the avy report before you go. Hwy 20 has a lot of slide paths that cross the road. right now might now be the best time to ride hwy 20.

Went up from the Mazama side on Sunday 12/27. It was a trail ride. Needs more snow. The few play areas were trenched to the dirt/rock. Hard to beat the views at Liberty Bell lookout. Fed the birds from our hands.

Road was plowed 6 or 7 miles (west) past the normal Early Winters snopark. Hardpack with maybe 2 inches of soft stuff on top. Half of the soft stuff was hoar frost. West of Rainy Pass was hardpack due to rain.

Riding to Mazama not practical - too much bare road. Not sure how you would do it if there was snow. Not legal to ride the hwy east of the snowpark. Snowmobiles aren't welcome on private property anywhere near Early Winters.

Sorry, my mistake...I read HWY 20 and thought HWY 2.

Disregard.
